Giveaway: 5 Free Rental Days from National Car Rental

As promised two weeks ago, I’m giving one lucky blog reader 5 free rental car days courtesy of National.

This is the last of 3 giveaways from these generous folks, it started with a Victorinox carryon bag and was followed by National Car Rental Executive Elite status, and now someone gets to rent a car and not pay!

Here’s the fine print that goes along with the free rental days, not especially onerous but I share the legalese nonetheless which amounts to you still pay the taxes:

Complimentary Car rental covers the base rate for the number of consecutive prize days awarded, but excludes taxes, other governmentally-authorized or imposed surcharges, license recoupment and concession recoupment fees, airport and airport facility fees, fuel, additional driver fee, or optional items, which shall be the responsibility of winner. Rental car is subject to National’s eligible driver criteria and the winner’s execution of, and compliance with, National’s standard rental or Emerald Club Master Rental Agreement. Emerald Club membership is subject to the terms and conditions of the Emerald Club. The Emerald Club rules and conditions are subject to change and may be terminated at Sponsor’s discretion at any time.

I love the value proposition here. They’ve asked to pick up my blog posts for their Facebook page, and in exchange I get to give away free stuff to readers. They get to introduce and highlight their product to expert travelers, which makes good sense, their Emerald Aisle is really popular with road warriors and the in-the-know travel set but somehow the broader public doesn’t see the rental agencies as being especially different. So this online push helps them distinguish themselves. And my readers benefit (I’m not taking anything from National for this, just giving away stuff to y’all).

So how does this giveaway work?

  • All you need to do to enter is leave a comment to this post, what you would do with your free rental days from National.
  • Only enter once. Anyone leaving more than one comment will not be eligible to win.
  • I will draw a winning comment at random using random.org
  • The contest will remain open for entries through Friday, May 6 at 6pm Eastern.

This is a giveaway, I don’t get anything by offering it, all interpretations of rules are mine and it isn’t mean to be strict terms and conditions just a friendly gesture to benefit readers. If you have a question, please don’t post it as a comment here since you only get one entry! Instead email me.

Enter away, good luck on the free rental days, and thanks for the giveaway opportunity, National!

  1. My plan is to kill 2 birds with one stone. 1, take time off and drive the cape in a great car. 2, hopefully the drive is in either a luxury or sport model so I can convince the wife to get a new one!

  2. We’re planning a visit to our navy son in Monterey. This would be awesome!

  3. No trip planned right now but this would be a great base to start planning 🙂

  4. Would love to visit our daughter for Christmas. She lives across the country, has only a small car and is 3 or more hours from any airport so it gets expensive when you have flights and rental car costs. It would be great to have a free or partially free car ready at the airport to drive to her town.

  5. I’d give it to my daughter so that she can drive (instead of taking a long dreaded bus ride) to attend her sister’s college graduation in upstate NY.

  6. We would use the days in Hawaii. The National rental staff at the Maui airport (OGG) was the friendliest rent a car location we have ever seen for any brand.

  7. With that free rental days from National, I would explore LA area from dawn to dusk 🙂
    RV

  8. I’d use it to cover part of a two-week rental to get from Louisville, KY to Burning Man later this year 🙂

  9. This would be the second win for me on this site as I already won the Hyatt 44,000
    points.

  10. I would go on a random road trip… if the price of gas doesn’t kill the joy

  11. Fly out to the West Coast and use the car for a five-day national park sightseeing blitz.

  12. Thanks for the prize. I’ll use them to tour the National Parks of Southern Utah.

  13. I’ll need a car for the next vacation, hopefully this applies abroad too.

  14. Rental rates are really high at ORD when I’m going to be there in June, so this would save some dough.

  15. I would love to win, going to Denver with my wife for our Summer vacation in June, would love to use the car there.

  16. I would attempt to gate check it for a trip to Oahu. It’s a small car, right?

  17. I would take some time off from work and drive to a couple of different cities and visit friends.

  18. Pick me! Pick me! I’d use the rental for my upcoming trip to Yellowstone.
