The under construction Hard Rock hotel New Orleans collapsed this morning leaving one person dead and 18 people hospitalized. “[C]onstruction workers ran to safety” before “[u]pper floors began to fall on top of each other before one side of the building fell to the ground below.”
The collapse at the construction site was captured on video.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. this morning when “the top six floors of the building collapsed.” The remaining construction is deemed “very unstable.” Reportedly “[t]he crane is still in place but it is unsupported and very dangerous.”
The Hard Rock Hotel New Orleans website still says the planned 350 property on the corner of Rampart and Canal Streets is “coming soon.”
Very sad.
Definitely looked like someone was getting crushed at the end of that video.
