News and notes from around the interweb:
- At Houston’s Intercontinental airport, I think I’d go somewhere else to pick up food (where the animals are likely present, but non-obvious):
- Why you don’t want to be called gate lice at the airport (HT: Don)
- The credit card culture that is Japan: housewife credit limit…? No mid-cycle payments?
In unexpected inflation news, the 200,000 JPY (~$1.5k USD) that Japanese financial institutions use as the default housewife credit limit is starting to routinely hit Ruriko and her friend circle, with denials near the end of each monthly cycle.

I'd note that this is exacerbated by IT issues, because many card issuers in Japan cannot take payments easily mid-cycle, because (more or less literally) the mainframes aren't ready for that batch job for another two weeks yet.

- Why Boeing developed a new 737 instead of a new 757
- Sweet.
- For those of you who defended tipflation, I hope you’re tipping your landlord, or the financial institution that owns your mortgage?
- How did I miss the Denver Airport April Fool’s? Actually seems like a decent idea to be honest, an on-property Ferris Wheel with food trucks, great for plane spotting.
I’d say that landlords should tip tenants who pay rent early.
I stopped tipping completely. Not my problem
