Marriott will give you 1000 points for answering a simple question on Twitter.
In what year was the @NFL founded? Answer with #RewardsPoints by 8pm EDT on 9/24 and score 1,000 bonus points if you get it right. pic.twitter.com/atJBjXjUVe

Your Marriott Rewards and Twitter accounts need to be connected of course, but they give you points for that too.
For the Googlely-challenged they’re looking for ‘1920’ but I couldn’t help but elaborate further.
The @NFL entity was founded in 1920 (under a different name), became NFL for the 1922 season #RewardsPoints

Bear in mind that points earned via social don’t extend the expiration date of your account. And also that Marriott points transfer 3:1 into Starwood Preferred Guest.
oh. you were *that guy* in class. 😉
I tweeted #RewardsPoints and #MembersGetIt early this morning and got confirmation for the daily 50. But hours later now, I still have not gotten response to answering today’s 1000 NFL question. Did I miss the rule where earning points is strictly limited to once per day? I’ve also noticed some of my friends haven’t had response from Marriott either.
I linked my account to #Marriott Rewards and tweeted both #MarriottRewards and #RewardsPoints over 10 times before the 8:00 p.m. ET deadline, each time answering the question correctly. I repeated the entires because I saw that some members were getting twitter confirmations and others, like me, were not. I received a twitter response a few minutes ago saying that my replies were untimely. They were not.
This is only one of a number of ways Marriott is ticking off its rewards members these days. The promised unlocking of a second award for those of us who have been working toward the current MegaBonus (by completing the stay requirements within the registration period) is turning out to be a joke as well: You unlock the “second reward” to get a big fat goose egg.
I’m done with playing Charlie Brown to Marriott’s Lucy.
Wow, going from offering the Book of Mormon in rooms to Sunday ONLY contests…what a decline! Sundays happen to be the busiest day of the week for me and the last day that I can think to follow any blog or do anything on social media. Guess Marriott doesn’t value my business…
