- Said she was going to “blow up the plane”.
- And lit a cigarette in the cabin.
- Her seat was covered with a princess-style T-shirt and tried to burn it.

Passengers and crew intervened. Someone wrestled the lighter/cigarette away, and a flight attendant showed up with a water bottle. The woman said things in Turkish like “I will blow it up. I have bombs on me. I am lighting it up!”
It’s so unbelievable that comments in social media suggest it’s staged. It’s not – it’s just not new. This was a widely-reported incident before the pandemic on a flight from Istanbul to Ercan in Northern Cyprus that’s taken on new life on TikTok and across multiple forums on Reddit.
Hmmm… Calls to mind that Seinfeld episode “Man Hands”. Are we sure that “she” is a woman ? It changes neither the outcome nor the facts of the story, but is a bit suspicious.
