Lyft Just Boosted Alaska Mileage Earning Up To 3x—Here’s Exactly How To Stack Rewards For Maximum Value

Lyft just got more rewarding. They offer far richer rebates than Uber does. You can stack rewards with Lyft. And they’ve just improved the earning rate with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. In fact, it’s good enough that I’ve switched my earning preference in the Lyft app back to Mileage Plan miles.

Crediting to Alaska now earns:

  • 2x miles per $1 on all Lyft rides
  • 3x miles per $1 on airport rides, Extra Comfort, Black, and Black SUV

I was earning Bilt Rewards points – Bilt was the clearly most rewarding partner to credit to. But most of my Lyft rides are airport rides. You can, of course, switch back and forth at will. (They used to let you credit to more than one partner at a time but that ended during the pandemic.)

  • This earning is separate from your credit card earn. I’m earn 5x credit card spend with Chase for my Lyft rides. I’m also getting Lyft discounts via DoorDash DashPass that comes with my Chase card, too.

  • And this earning is separate from any card-linked offers. I’ve frequently had card-linked offers to opt into with Lyft (and that’s been a reason, occasionally, switch from Chase to Citi or just to a Mastercard).

  • This earning is also separate from linking your account to ThanksAgain and earning points with that program which can be transferred to JetBlue or redeemed for gift cards.

Regardless, make sure you’re stacking offers for the best deals on rideshare, and crediting your Lyft rides to either Alaska Airlines or to Bilt Rewards (which, among other programs, transfers to Alaska Airlines). And whatever you do, don’t redeem your Bilt points for Lyft rides.

  1. That’s a nice development. Just tried to switch from BILT to Alaska, but the app was not ‘liking’ my attempts. Guess I’ll try later. 3x Alaska is worth more than 2x BILT; however, I still miss the 10x on CSR. Oh well. ‘Nothing gold can stay.’
