News and notes from around the interweb:
- Hotel guests spent a night with a corpse under their bed
- If you book on Airbnb and your host cancels, you may be pretty much just out of luck
- With the departure of Emirates’ last Airbus A330 their fleet is now nothing but Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. However they do codeshare with a bus Seattle – Vancouver (HT: Point Me to the Plane)
- United will sell you bonus elite qualifying miles in conjunction with a flight. Although for the past 6 years United status has expired at the end of January (so status earned in 2016 for 2017 runs through January 31, 2018), they appear to be telling customers that if they spend money to buy up towards status that status will run through February. That is, of course, false. United status lasts though January, or until February, not through February.
- How Etihad uses cabin lighting as subtle destination marketing
- For those of you into private jet travel, and as winter approaches, de-icing usually isn’t included in your price quote..
Don’t forget that socialist, commie AirBNB CEO child who sent a memo to all employees stating if anyone supported Trump, they have to resign by emailing him directly. It certainly is tough to be a loser in charge of AirBNB, a socialist company circumnavigating law by the use of a handheld software worm, isn’t it? I know where his chopsticks are going (see his Twitter icon).
Thanks. M.
@Melissa, AirBnB CEO’s has not said anything of the sort. I believe you have confused this with the story of GrubHub’s CEO that said they will not tolerate discriminatory behavior. http://fortune.com/2016/11/11/donald-trump-grubhub-ceo/
Maybe United is being more generous with status expiration for people who buy Premier Accelerator.
Yes, typically, it lasts until January, but in this modern airline pricing era where everything is for sale, and terms and prices constantly change, you don’t know for certain if it’s a mistake, or if they’re simply offering a more generous term for customers who purchase through this channel to entice them.
Let all your friends and family know that your airbnb-host can cancel right before the stay and you will be out of luck if comparable accomodations have risen in price. This is very important and surprising.
@Melissa’s comment is outright libel and you ought to remove it. As @Matthew points out, she has both the company AND the facts wrong.
