Thanks for linking to the CNN article about Miles4Migrants. In the last year and a half, we have flown over 150 people to reunite families separated by war, conflict, and persecution.
The case I’m most proud of involved using 120,000 of my own AA miles to help an Afghan family. “Mahmoud” worked for a company that was assisting US forces in the fight against the Taliban, and the Taliban killed his father and let him know that he was next. He escaped, but had to leave his wife and children behind. We were able to fly him on Etihad from BRU to pick up his family in ISB and for all of them to return to Belgium in safety.
With the work we are now doing to unite families separated at the US border, our work has gone viral, and we now have over 20 million miles pledged. We still have no staff and work on a volunteer basis, and we really appreciate all of the recognition and support.
