.News and notes from around the interweb:
- Bilt makes it easier to pay rent free and electronically while earnings miles. I have the Bilt credit card and you can skip the waitlist to get one using code VFTW4BILT (I do not receive any referral credit for this).
- A flight attendant offered a predeparture beverage in first class on American Airlines – and their colleague was not pleased.
just boarded a[ Los Angeles – Mexico City] flight and the [flight attendant] decided to give us a pre departure drink in [first class] and the other [flight attendant] came and said wow dont let them get used to this service because next time they are going to expect it. the amazing generous [flight attendant] said well they should be and we cant be using covid as an excuse forever.

- Vail Resorts properties facing a backlash from customers
- Something I do not think about enough in design:
On yet another #Airbus aircraft, this time, a 350-1000, where the only way to call a FA is via a touchscreen menu, not so useful/safe if you are, like me, blind. I can’t believe I’m the only person who is blind who has encountered this #accessibility fail on these planes.

Teamwork!
Do US flight attendants compete in some sort of fecklessness championship?
That is the most American Airlines thing possible.
“We can’t provide service because they’ll expect it the next time. Literally Spirit level garbage.”
Hopefully, the American Airlines flight attendant offering first-class pre-departure beverages service to passengers will not get expelled from the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) union for providing excellent customer service to customers.
Gary, how do you even find the pancake video? I just can’t…
Sad US carrier have premium routes and even international routes with FAs that have this kind of attitude. This is why I always choose to fly and even pay more for middle east or asian, swiss/lufthansa if routing is equal.
Crab bucket syndrome. One crab tries to reach a higher level and the other crabs pull it back into the bucket. AA flight attendants have not been consistent for years. But it used to be the majority were good to great. Now the lazy outnumber the good and don’t care. They know the pay is the same and there is no threat from AA taking any action to discipline the worthless or incentivize the good ones. AA is just a terrible flying experience.
