News and notes from around the interweb:
- Woman assaults flight attendant during overhead bag argument: Charges (HT: Cheryl L)
[A woman] assaulted a Delta crew member onboard Delta Airlines flight DL 2089 at Gate C14 of Terminal 1 within MSP.
Charges say that authorities at the scene were told by Delta employees that Swaminathan was informed she needed to put her bags in an overhead compartment, but she refused to do so. The employees said that when it came time to close the aircraft doors, and there was no longer any room for her bags, she was told she would need to check them.
Employees say at that point she became angry, and started “yelling while pacing up and down the aisle screaming at other passengers,” according to charges. When one airline attendant tried to speak with her, she “charged at her and pushed her with both hands in the chest.”
- I didn’t need to get to the second tweet to know he was talking about Tortas Frontera. Although the correct choice is the choriqueso.
guy who sticks around ohare after his flight bc he just loves airport food (it’s me and the food is the eggplant milanesa from frontera)

- I hadn’t seen this microsite highlighting the American Airlines premium experience from lounge to new business class seats to onboard dining.
- John Oliver on air traffic control:
- I will finally be trying it myself in a few days, for ‘research’.
Not everyone is excited, however.
Ghetto. Imagine paying for a first class ticket to eat fast food out the microwave.
Another reason why delta airlines needs to just shut down https://t.co/krwVYi8Zwk

- Should you use TSA-approved locks on your luggage?
- EU considers lengthening the required delay before passengers become entitled to compensation, and allowing airlines to charge for carry-on bags
@George N Romey is gonna love this! He’s always quick to demand charges. You got a win, buddy!
Is that woman from the Delta flight a lawyer?

She should know better!!!
@1990 I get it you’re on the side of thugs, rapists and criminals. Typical liberal. One day if one of this type you so admire seriously hurts you or a family member/close friend let me see the out pouring of love you have for that person.
Most serious people understand that once there’s a practice of arrest, prosecution, jail time and put on a No Fly List said lowlifes will change their behavior. Notice this didn’t happen 50 years ago.
Lock Her Up!
Lock Her Up!
Lock Her Up!
Nothing like a drunk civil rights attorney from California to ensure a great flight. I wonder if any of the other passengers will sue.
Per Hollywood Reporter:
“Barack and Michelle Obama are starting to fill out their highly anticipated Netflix production company. Priya Swaminathan, a seasoned entertainment executive with a background in documentaries and social activism, has been hired to work at the Los Angeles”
@George N Romey — Yikes. Not at all. I’m on the side of ‘due process,’ sir. So called, ‘frontier justice’ isn’t justice; it’s often just murder. We need less ‘witch hunts,’ and more actual ‘enforcement’ of the law, otherwise, folks like yourself will resort to vigilantism, which, again, is not good, unless you have a newfound appreciation for Mario’s brother… So, let’s be clear about the nuance here.
The Shake Shacker locates in London…relevant input? But maybe the use of “ghetto” to describe Delta implies a previous relationship from a self-righteous Atlanta-explant…but who really knows . Really do appreciate BA tho for setting the global airline standard.…I’ll take the burger lol
@Rob: I’m not sure that’s the same Priya Swaminathan. There are at least two people with that name on LinkedIn. One is an entertainment executive in Los Angeles, the other is a lawyer in San Jose. The flight in question was headed to San Francisco.
I assume Ms. Banks is just posting for attention. If not, chill! Nobody is forcing you to order the burger, they’re not microwaving it, and, if AA’s experience holds, it will probably be popular. Frankly, if the burger is 90% of what SS serves at their restaurants, I’ll prefer it to 97% of the F meals I’ve been served. But, of course, some people are so insecure about their lives, they love to look down their noses at the masses.
Apologies to all for the lack of paragraph breaks in my prior post. I swear they were when I submitted my comments!
George Romney said: “One day if one of this type you so admire seriously hurts you or a family member/close friend let me see the out pouring of love you have for that person.”
But what of when I or my family is seriously hurt by someone who looks and lives like you?
Do you have an outpouring of love if you are hurt by someone who looks and lives like you?
Sir, you need to travel more and get out of your cushy comfort zone.
Open flame + cabin compression + 30 to 40 k cruise altitude = bad ending. That’s that math…
AA can promote “premium experience” all they want. But until the company motivates the FA’s to provide a ‘premium service’ onboard, and properly manages service expectations, none of these improvements matter.
Now we know one side of the story – which may, or may not, reflect the truth.
