Register Now To Earn Double Hilton Points

You should register now – while the offer is in front of you, so you don’t forget and in case you happen to have any Hilton stays – because you can earn double points between September 6 – December 31, 2022 and you’ll also earn 2000 additional bonus points on all stays that end Monday through Friday.

Hilton has been running a promotion, this new one isn’t as generous as the last (but it’s more generous than Hyatt’s). This makes sense because hotels have been largely full and at high rates in many places so there’s less of a reason to spend marketing dollars to fill rooms.

  • It’s great that this Hilton offer is valid starting on the first stay
  • And it’s valid on all stays at all properties (only some participating properties used to be a real weakness in Hilton promotions)
  • And it’s valid even on one night stays.

It’s also interesting to see the Monday through Friday checkout bonus, a small incentive for attracting traditional business stays which aren’t fully back the way leisure stays have been. That will be important as this promotion starts, coinciding with return to school in many places.

I value Hilton points at $0.004 apiece, so double points is an extra 4% rebate and 2000 points is worth $8. Better than a hole in the head, as my grandfather used to say!

  1. These promotions are nice and all. But they don’t even remotely influence my booking behavior.

I can’t imagine any circumstance in which an extra 2000 pts would cause me to book a trip I’d hadn’t otherwise been planning to take; or even to book a Hilton if another hotel is better priced or more convenient to where I need to be.

Basically at this point I don’t even consider them to be promotions. They are just a standard feature of the Honors program

  2. @Bob did you miss the double points part? That’s certainly more compelling than any Marriott promotion I’ve seen this entire year as a Titanium elite.

  3. @Bob: The double points may not cause people to book a trip they would not otherwise take. But I have an upcoming work trip where a Conrad and Marriott are right near each other. I have Marriott Platinum status and usually stay at the Marriott, but the offer was enough to entice me to book the Conrad instead.

With the weekday bonus, this offer looks like it’s intended to appeal to business travelers like me. It’s not the best promo from Hilton, but it’s better than anything I’ve seen from Marriott or Hyatt in a long time.

  4. When having no promo from Marriott I will be booking Hilton because of point bonuses and additional 10lk points every 10 nights staying there after hitting 40 nights tomorrow.

  5. I have a meeting at a Hilton in December, so I’ve signed up for the promotion.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  6. I am a Lifetime Diamond who puts all my hotel spend on the unmatched Aspire card at 14x. It means that for all eligible folio charges I will earn:

    10x (base) + 10x (2x promo) + 10x (100% Diamond bonus) +14x (Aspire bonus) = 44x

you can also add 1000 points for Diamond My Way and 2,000 points for weeknight checkouts.

Still less than the ending Q3 promo that awards up to 3x or 54x, but definitely a decent promo.

44x is like earning 14.7x in Hyatt points…It’s that good.

    G’day.

  7. will be interesting to see if Marriott comes up with anything in response…. I had top status in both and my money clearly goes to the programs that offers the biggest bang for my buck……
