For August 1 Rent Day, Bilt Rewards will run a transfer bonus up to 100% to Avianca LifeMiles. They had a similar offer for February 1 Rent Day.
- Base member: 20%
- Silver: 40%
- Gold: 60%
- Platinum 100%
I’m a Bilt Platinum, and it’s given me incredible value – from these elevated transfer bonuses to Flying Blue Gold status and opportunities for status matches to Accor and Alaska Airlines (plus free Blade airport helicopter transfers). So I love seeing this. But I’m not jumping on it myself this month.
Bilt has 21 transfer partners (they say 22, treating Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red separately).
- Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Miles & Smiles, United Airlines MileagePlus, Avianca LifeMiles, TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go
- oneworld: Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Iberia Plus, British Airways Club, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- SkyTeam: Air France KLM Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
- Non-alliance: Emirates Skywards, Southwest Airlines, Aer Lingus Aer Club
- Hotels: World Of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, Accor ALL – Accor Live Limitless
I probably should’ve gone ‘all in’ on their amazing 200% transfer bonus to Accor hotels two months ago – especially considering a ‘worst case’ ability to favorably transfer on from there to Air France or Qantas. But I don’t do enough Accor stays, even as a Gold (status thanks to Bilt!) for it to be worthwhile.
I’m very careful with my Bilt points because I consider them my most valuable currency. If I need Avianca LifeMiles, I’ll buy them during a sale for less than 1.4 cents apiece. I don’t want to transfer them from Bilt, really.
LifeMiles is a great program for experts. If an award is bookable on their website, great. If it’s not, sometimes that’s on purpose. I don’t want to move large chunks of miles there on the expectation of using them later. There are some incredible Star Alliance awards through Avianca, and without fuel surcharges, so this transfer bonus will be useful to many. But in full disclosure I’ll go on hoarding – I’ve done 150% transfer bonuses to Flying Blue and to Virgin (and I actually regret the Virgin one!).
The truth is, also, that I have an irrational desire to build point balances against my better judgment. I have seven figure stashes of Chase, American Express and Capital One points. I’m not there yet with Bilt! I’m not even close, though if I hadn’t done those Flying Blue and Virgin transfers…
Meanwhile, Bilt brings back free coffee and cookies at the coffee shop on the ground floor of their headquarters on August 1, their game show giving away free rent, plus neighborhood dining and comedy show packages at a discount and double points on their co-brand credit card capped at 1,000 bonus points.
And for Gold and Platinum members they have an offer promoting their new luxury Home Away From Home hotel booking option with Virtuoso.
Gold and Platinum members get early access to an small concert with Grammy-winning Maren Morris at Primland in the Blue Ridge Mountains, an Auberge Resorts Collection property that Travel & Leisure has listed as the country’s top resorts. This is a live performance, special program, and hotel accommodations at the estate.
Starting 9 a.m. Eastern on Friday, July 25 there are 100 tickets available:
- Book a stay through the Bilt Travel Portal for 2+ nights starting September 19
- Receive up to two complimentary tickets per guest room to the September 19 performance on top of Bilt’s Home Away from Home benefits (akin to a Virtuoso booking)
Will you take advantage of any offers this month?
Gary, I’m also a fan of BILT, namely because the 1x points on rent really adds up quickly; so I’ll all for them, for as long as they last.
I have become a bit concerned about their announced transition from Wells to Cardless in February 2026, because that issuer is known for abruptly ending its programs. So, you may want to re-think your comment, “an irrational desire to build point balances against my better judgment,” because the ‘churner’ adage ‘don’t hoard points’ is there for a reason. I’m wary of shutdowns, abrupt ending of programs, devaluations, etc., even if you personally ‘do everything right.’
As for August’s offers, that’s a nope for me, dawg. While some dabble with Avianca, I still think Hyatt and Alaska are the two best transfers with BILT, even without a ‘Rent Day’ promotion. That said, might have to go early next Friday for free coffee, etc. ‘while supplies last.’ Wonder if they do in-fact ‘run-out’ after a certain time… that’d be disappointing. ‘Low expectations’ engaged!
Below Platinum this offer is below what you can make without the BILT card.
And this is a trend. Increasingly, BILT rent day one-off specials are not special.
@L3 — I’m ‘gold’ currently, and agreed, it’s a meaningless status. That said, so long as they keep giving away 1x points on rent payments, and keep their existing transfer partners, I’m fine with it. The question is how many more months do you think we got with that?
Is there any reason to consider Bilt if one has no mortgage or rent payment? Seems like no, but I don’t know if I’m overlooking something.
