The quirk is that when you book a business class award, and add a connection in economy, sometimes the price of the award drops.

Even better you don’t need to do this as a throwaway ticket without checking bags. Alaska Airlines offers one-way awards with a free stopover. So book your business class ticket to Europe and add a one-way coach flight to another destination for later. You should do this anyway any time you’re booking an award since it’s a free extra trip. Except here it’s negative-priced.

Alaska Airlines Tips Its Hand For Plan After Buying Hawaiian Airlines

Alaska Airlines is buying Hawaiian Airlines, unless the government stops them. They’re paying more than three times the Hawaiian share price at the time the deal was announced, and the real question is… why? This is a great deal for Hawaiian’s shareholders. Hawaiian Airlines frequent flyers will get more valuable miles out of the deal. There will probably be some reduction in seats flying between the Hawaiian islands, but that’s happening anyway as Southwest Airlines pulls back. Southwest saturated the market. Alaska is picking up planes, pilots, and experience flying to Asia Pacific destinations which the Seattle-based carrier has never done before. It doesn’t do any long haul flying. Alaska Airlines Passenger’s AirTag Traveled To 37 Cities While Its Owner Watched, No Miles Earned!

An Alaska Airlines passenger put an AirTag on their luggage last summer before checking it in San Francisco. The bag was delivered to San Diego just fine. It was at baggage claim shortly after landing – without the AirTag on it. The tag had fallen off.

The plane was an Embraer E-175 regional jet operated for Alaska Airlines by SkyWest. And that SkyWest plane has been “bopping around the western US and Canada ever since” with the passenger’s AirTag in the cargo hold.

Alaska Airlines Elites To No Longer Get American Airlines Confirmed Upgrades, As American’s Seattle Plans Fade

Alaska Airlines MVP Gold 75K and 100K elite members have had the opportunity to confirm upgrades at time of booking on American Airlines long haul international flights, just like American Airlines Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum members can select systemwide upgrades as a choice benefit.

These confirmed upgrades on American for Alaska Airlines elites go away next year.
