Taylor Swift’s Dad Flies Southwest, Dishes To Passengers About Her Love Life, Exes

Taylor Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, was on a recent Southwest Airlines flight out of New Orleans. His seatmate was a travel agent, and she dishes on how talkative he was while sitting beside him in the bulkhead middle – all about his pride in his daughter, his family’s life, and Taylor’s relationship with Travis Kelce.

The seatmate took to TikTok showing herself walking onto the flight and recognizing Mr. Swift. She naturally took the seat beside him. And, she says, he began chatting her up about his daughter and her accomplishments.

He was just raving about how proud he was of her, talking about his busy lifestyle supporting her at concerts and at all the Chiefs games.

The father of the “Eras Tour” sensation showed the passengers in his row video clips from his daughter’s New Orleans concert, talking about his favorite moments onstage. “He kept saying, ‘Look how she does this,’ pointing out parts he loved. It was the cutest thing in the world.” Flight attendants came over to “fangirl” over the proud dad.

Scott says Kelce is her favorite boyfriend Taylor has had over the past 12 years, and that he’s had “the biggest impact.” He knew Jason Kelce’s father-in-law, Ed McDevitt, before Taylor began dating Jason’s brother Travis. He says the Kelce family as “phenomenal” and that Travis’s character and values are fantastic and that he “loves them together.”

Yet he hasn’t always loved the boyfriends – without mentioning names, he implied that Travis stands out in ways her past paramours did not, noting the positive influence Travis has had on his daughter’s life.

In perhaps a bit of fatherly exaggeration, he compares the “Eras Tour” phenomenon to Woodstock, expressing that its significance might well parallel the cultural icon of his own generation which took place on a dairy farm during a pandemic. He marveled at the dedication of her fans, sharing that he sees the tour as a “big thing” with a historical impact.

The two passengers wrapped up their conversation, taking a photo together that “Papa Swift” asked remain private to avoid exposing his whereabouts. She said it was “like talking to my dad.”

  1. I’m sure she has shared some of her 1.5 billion net worth and also she has multiple private jets. Why would he be on SW instead of flying private (or slumming in first on another airline)? Doesn’t make sense.

  2. How about leaving a conversation between 2 people private instead of posting it all over social media ?

  3. I find this very hard to believe. A superstar’s father flying commercial on SW instead of private. Pictures or it didn’t happen.

  4. And this is the problem with social media. Probably the last time he will entertain conversation with random strangers, since the likelihood is that it gets posted for the world to see. Next time we will see a post saying he is a jerk because he ignored someones small talk.

Its one thing to tell your friends / family about such a conversation, but sharing with the world is not ok.

  5. There’s a photo in the video.

Lots of reasons commercial can make sense, from value to convenience to wanting to be seen in public.

Figured Travis was a dad favorite, though we all have our own opinions about what constitutes good character. Wonder if her dad had a role in the set up given he knew the family.

  6. Really,do we really need to care what Taylor Swift’s dad has spewed out about his daughter ? I do not, to me Taylor Swift is nothing more than a government Sell Out, which means her career is gonna go down the toilet due to her bad decision

  7. @ Gary — We flew with her and her mom to London once in AA J. My spouse was very execited to speak with them. Me: “Taylor who?”

  8. Kind of pathetic a parent of a billionaire is sitting in a middle seat on a Southwest flight. Tells you a lot about the character of his daughter.

  9. Why bash Taylor for dad flying SW? We applaud Buffet for being cheap. Why isn’t his choice to fly commercial a similar thing? Trust me, dad’s of famous folks, I won’t be on social media relaying what you share. For the record, I have never listened to an entire Taylor Swift song.

  10. 1. It’s her money, not his. And he seems to respect that.
    2. The quickest way to become not a billionaire is to spend money on Flying Private for all your friends and family.
    3. If I had money and people started insisting I fly them private when I wasn’t travelling with them, even immediate family members, we’d be having a little “chat” about who owns what.
    4. If I saw him in the airport, I’d have no idea who he is. I’m sure he can travel without much fuss. Most celebrities actually do. My daughter flew a few rows from Matt Damon on a Boston to NY shuttle last year.
    5. Southwest is no longer the cheapest option, though they are often the most direct.
    6. Flying private is not environmentally friendly when regular flights are availble. Meghan, cough, Harry, cough.
    6. Dad is probably quite aware that his comments will get out there. Nothing he said seems to reflect badly on her.

  11. Taylor Swift’s dad flies Southwest Airlines? Someone told the person a huge fabricated story. No, I highly doubt that her dad flies Southwest, not to mention bragging to strangers about her. Something’s really fishy here!

  12. Travis Kelce’s parents fly Southwest, too: I think this shows how down-to-earth both families are in spite of their tremendous wealth. They all seem like genuinely good people who care about others. At 69, I am a Swiftie–as are my two 18-year-old granddaughters, three daughters, and one daughter-in-law.
While I’ve not listened to Taylor’s music, I plan to do so. I read about all of her tours and all the good she does by giving to food banks in cities where her concerts are–and by giving her truckers bonuses for making her shows happen. I think she is a generous person; she is appreciative; and she has great empathy and compassion for people less fortunate.

She a hard-working, intelligent woman who is a tremendous role model for little girls!
    Kudos to Ms. Taylor Swift!

  13. She writes and sings her songs earnestly. Seems her father is an earnest man who thinks and acts like a human being. He brought her up well.

  14. How do you make a small fortune . . start with a large one and buy a Falcon 900EX or G650 to loan to your friends and family. Of course the exception is to put the airplane into your nonprofit foundation.

  15. I’m with TW on this. Why she has such a following is puzzling. Yes she has clean lyrics and show but what’s the big deal. Her and Kelce live in a stratosphere above us.
