Review: The Club At MSY New Orleans Airport Priority Pass Lounge

The Club at MSY airport lounge in the New Orleans airport is the Priority Pass option there. Many haven’t seen it since the airport opened a brand new terminal, abandoning the existing one, shortly before the pandemic.

The lounge is located past security. It’s in the area that connects the A and B concourses. So flying Southwest, which departs from B, I passed the entry to those gates and continued walking as though headed towards the A gates. The directions tell you to “pass Cafe Du Mondé” in that area, which is accurate. There’s an elevator to the third floor where the lounge is located on the right hand side once you pass concessions.

Overall the physical space of the lounge is fantastic. It’s small but efficiently laid out and mostly devoid of passengers, at least during my visit.

The food there was sad, with nothing hot at all served in the mornings. That might not be a permanent situation, as pre-pandemic they reportedly offered gumbo, pasta, and a crab and corn bisque (which alternated with a broccoli cheese soup). The Club lounges are usually pretty bare bones, so lack of a substantive spread wasn’t surprising. But I was pleasantly surprised by the physical space.

Maybe the best thing about the lounge was the bathroom situation – each bathroom is a private room, rather than shared stalls.

I wouldn’t arrive at the airport early to visit The Club at MSY but it’s a perfectly fine place to wait for your flight.

  1. MSY local. It’s nice enough, and since I check bags, I’m at the field early enough to use it for a minute. It only really ever gets crowded around when MSY-LHR departs. I believe they do actually put out a decent business class spread for that.

  2. I hate private bathrooms like that. Lines get super long as people seem to take forever and they end up a mess for cleaners to take care of.

  3. I visited pre-covid on use it or loose it flight credits in Feb 2020 day trip. I think I had a credit card that allowed me in. It was great to have since return flight delayed, nice sunset and fun conversation at the bar! 🙂

  4. Before covid, the Club at SJC also was putting out a decent business class spread just before the flight to Tokyo was departing and removed it promptly when they started boarding that flight. Lol

  5. Visited February 2020 and there was a solid spread of hot foods, similar to what you referenced.

  6. Have not been to MSY yet, but in my experience, “The Club”s usually well surpass UA or AA lounges. Low bar, to be sure.

  7. How did this lounge compare to the lounges of the legacy carriers (e.g., AA, DL, UA) at MSY? I have not had an opportunity to explore Delta’s new SkyClub there. It was closed at the beginning of the pandemic.

  8. What’s disappointing about The Clubs to me is that they all dropped the quality of their booze & even soda since covid. Before, they had 12oz cans of soda & now they have those crappy 7oz ones. As for alcohol, they used to have good bourbon (Bulleit) and whiskey (Jameson) but now only have Jim Beam. Pretty depressing considering The Club is owned by Priority Pass!

  9. So I visited that lounge about 3 months ago. They had the best gumbo I have ever had. The rest of the food was good and staff were very helpful.

  10. I was last at The Club MSY Thursday, August 19. It is clean and the employees are nice.

The UA lounge MSY is Covid closed, so I am at The Club every month.

AA does not have a lounge at MSY.

  11. I was just here last week and they had a pretty decent hot menu and cocktails menu that you order via a QR code. Things like crawfish etouffee and masala chickpea and tomato bisque and smoked ham sliders. Portions were small but you could order unlimited.

  12. 08/27 35- 45 minute wait, asked if could check waits on line or if there was # to call in advance so might check wait times. Told no. To small poor planning.
