Monday through Friday of this week American Airlines will be testing a new signature cocktail for premium cabins. The test route is London Heathrow – Los Angeles, and there are two different beverages they’re trying out in first class, business class, and premium economy.
- Sangria
- Peach Bellini
Each flight only gets one of these two, rather than both. They’re supposed to be offered as a predeparture beverage, poured over ice.

City Pair: LHR-LAXDear Flight Attendant:
On today’s flight we will be testing a new signature cocktail for our Premium Cabins. The product we are testing is an alcoholic beverage, available in two flavors: Sangria and Peach Bellini. On today’s flight, only one flavor will be boarded. As a pre-departure beverage, this cocktail should be poured over ice and offered to all adult customers in our Premium Cabins. We ask that you solicit feedback from the customers and let them know that we are testing this specialty cocktail for a limited time.
While American Airlines tests bellinis in international premium cabins, Delta starts offering bellinis in international coach this November.
As long as they use alcohol that tastes like rotgut can’t get excited about this. Wish they’d use the money to fix the electric outlets!
Pre-fab bellini is unacceptable.
I can’t think of two more disgusting options. And i’m not picky when it comes to alcohol.
I assume that Sangria from a bottle and/or prepackaged Bellini still costs less than even Prosecco AA would offer as a predeparture beverage on many of those flights. I would rather stick with Cathay offering Champagne even in premium economy.
Stilling serving swil in elegant plastic cups known for being so friendly to earth and sea.
HAHA totally done to reduce the tax for opening the bottle on the ground. Air Canada at one point was only offering prosecco as the predeparture gate for the same reason!
American Airlines, Pay a little more…get a little less!!!!!
