  1. Is the reading of dates a lost cause at schools these days? 25 AUG 2025 is August 25, 2025. That is more than 11 months in the future.

  2. @jns … +1 . Any type of Reading , Writing , or Arithmetic , is a Lost Cause at schools these days .

    Camal-a is a present-day example of a failure of education .

  3. Where did all the UA Million Milers find each other? At some point and maybe still, the biggest collection of UA MMs were on Facebook, and then there would be messages going around to set up and do the daisy-chains. I suspect cash changed hands sometimes to get the Global Services benefit. The only question I have is what made UA realize now what was going on and to take action to put a stop to that? How many UA MMs were playing this game? Of the GS I see, most aren’t UA MMs. Even as the proposition of GS with MM status seems much higher now than it was several years ago, the percentage of MM status travelers with GS doesn’t seem to have increased as much as that.

  4. Delta has a system for picking new routes? Giving up a year round low competition route like JFK-MUC for a seasonal low yield route like JFK to Sicily doesn’t come across as a great business strategy.

  5. @Alert – Pick a different subject man. Showing that strong, educated, articulate women intimidate you isn’t doing you much good.

  6. From the Guardian’s website:
“Airlines usually strictly prohibit rodents onboard because the animals can chew through electrical wiring, key to the operation of a plane.”

Usually strictly prohibit? I guess when Mickey can’t fly private…

  7. @Christian … She makes “articulate” clown-faces , I’ll give you that part of “articulate” . However , Not “articulate” with the English language , as anyone can hear . Another example of the failure of the teaching profession .
