I’ve argued that McDonald’s is indispensable for every traveler — not for the food, but for the bathrooms. That applies, of course, in store and not with McDelivery.
There’s one more benefit to Americans traveling in Austria. As of this past Wednesday May 15 an agreement with the U.S. Embassy provides for McDonald’s to provide consular assistance.
The idea is that U.S. citizens traveling in Austria who are unable to contact the U.S. Embassy for any reason can go to McDonald’s where “staff will assist them in making contact with the U.S. Embassy for consular services (e.g. report a lost or stolen passport, or seek travel assistance).”
The US ambassador has arranged for diplomatic assistance meals at each McEmbassy. And while you can no longer add pages to an existing US passport a McPassport comes in your choices of sizes and you can request a 52 page book when ordering a new one. Going forward, in Austria, this will be known as Supersizing It.
Sounds like an article from The Onion.
Gary you were a genius to place the “Taco Bell is Opening a Resort in Palm Springs” story right below the McD story.
In the future one wonders if travelers can fly Burger King World Airways to Vegas and then go stay at Taco Bell Resort Palm Springs after taking the Colonel Sanders express bus service there.
