News and notes from around the interweb:
- 10 greatest emergency landings
- Sort of reminds me of Spirit Airlines promoting their ‘bare fares’
- I’ve explained how the 1500 hour rule for pilots, not matched by any other country, had nothing to do with safety. Here’s a video on the rule and how it relates to the pilot shortage.
- Atlanta airport will spend down relief funding over the coming two years which of course demonstrates that they didn’t need these federal subsidies to make it through the pandemic. Too late!
- United’s flight attendants union bashes the airline for boarding prior to scheduled time, and for backing passengers up on the jet bridge
- Pre-purchase $10,000 of Thai Airways airfare, get Star Alliance Gold status for 2 years
Is this the new acceptable dress code for all Virgin Airlines flights departing Australia or just when visiting a Virgin Lounge in Australia?
Meh. The fact that they only give UA232 (Sioux City crash) a “notable mention” indicates they have no idea how miraculous that was, despite losing 112 people. The crew managed to make the unsurvivable, survivable.
@C_M here’s a tribute I wrote to the pilot of UA232 https://viewfromthewing.com/nited-sioux-city-crash-pilot-al-haynes-flight-232-has-died-at-87/
As a member of Star Alliance, when you buy US$10,000 (THB 350,000) Worth Of Thai Airways Credits and Receive Two Years Royal Orchid Plus Gold Status, your gold status should get you into the other Star Alliance lounges,
Definitely don’t want any of the AA captains or flight attendants taking off their clothes.
At least it shows that Australia is depicting the diversity of their crew members and the country S a whole in this add compared to *ahem* what consider the ‘greatest country in earth’. ‘Make it right, don’t make it white’
