  1. I’ve been saying the same since April that by the end of the year international flights will resume. Even for Australia while there’s been scepticism, I’ve been saying all along that at the end of June our start of July, domestic travel will resume. There is only so long that you can keep borders closed. Our biggest global companies work across multiple markets and need to go between offices. Business Travel might not necessarily spearhead the return, but they will be the bread and butter to maintaining airlines above water as long as possible.

  2. It’s comforting to see a lobbying group full of self-interest having a much better crystal ball than epidemiologists who have been studying disease patterns for their entire life.

So far lobbyists have been wrong with almost every single COVID-19 “prediction”, starting from February when they told it was all “unfounded fears” and “scaremongering”. Wish we didn’t take their advice then, and we certainly shouldn’t now.

  3. IATA’s statement about the virus being contained by the third quarter sounds very optimistic. It is not contained now in the US and no plan that would change that. Maybe it will just go away.
