Back in December, FTD offered a lucractive mileage-earning promo with United: 30 miles per dollar plus 1500 miles per order. That link is still active and should continue to provide the offer as long as it is.
Obviously most lucrative with smaller orders, .e.g a $29.99 purchase yields 2400 miles. But not worthwhile for most on a straight points-purchase basis because of the shipping charges that FTD adds to orders (~ $15 in most cases).
Still, it’s far less expensive to order flowers through a deal like this than to buy miles. And oh yeah, you get flowers too!
And if you’re going to buy flowers online anyway, it’s the best current offer that I’m aware of, so I thought I’d bring it forward from the December archives. Love it when deals last longer than one imagines they will…
I see a 12/24/09 expiration date on the landing page. Have you received the bonus lately?
I ordered yesterday, confident enough that I’ll receive the miles, delivery is today so I should see one way or another in a week. Will update. But I’m better pretty strongly that i will.
I had forgotten about this offer. Just checked the link though, and it seems to no longer be available. Offer now is for 25 miles per dollar.
Ordered six times in May for Mother’s day and a couple of folks in the hospital. All six round of points posted within about ten days -no problem.
@JLSocks indeed, looks like blogging it killed it, at lesat I got in a few orders. 🙂
Looks like re-raising this killed the deal 🙁
Its been working like a charm up until mid July.
FWIW,for those who have added the AAeShopping toolbar,if they click on the above link that will cause the toolbar to drop and give you 11miles/dollar from AA as well;thus causing a dbl bubble. If you use a Visa CC then don’t forget to use code# 18566 for a 20% discount.
This could also come in handy for your Christmas 2010 or Mother’s Day 2011 providing UA has the same promo it had this year.
Well, I ordered when the link was still active on July 30th or so, and the link claimed I would be receiving the extra miles. But I received only 25 miles/$ and NO bonus. And to add insult to injury, when I checked my miles on UA, they had a link to FTD for 30 miles/$ (but no bonus). Maybe I’ll contact FTD, but they’re making me work for it. But the recipients did like the flowers!
