The TSA doesn’t just fail to detect bombs and weapons 95% of the time, they fail to detect people, too.
Sunday night, a 26-year-old man drove to the airport, ditched his car at the curb and went inside. Sans ticket, he went through a TSA checkpoint — and was let through. At that point, airport officials say in a statement, he “boarded a plane without a ticket.” When it became clear what happened, courtesy a call from an airline agent, the man was arrested for criminal tresspassing by DFW Airport Department of Public Safety officers.
Fortunately the TSA tells us, “TSA continually evaluates checkpoint configurations and passenger flows at all our airports to ensure physical security.”
This story surprised me. If there’s one thing the TSA is good at, it’s checking people, in order to see them naked.
As they say, a few bad apples who in no way undermine the hard work that thousands of men and women at the TSA do to keep us safe, day in and day out.
I’ll admit…..I laughed at the headline. Great.
