One Day Left to Book Award Travel to Europe for 30% Fewer Miles
Ten days ago Delta started pricing awards weird. No, not the kind of weird where Delta charges 830,000 miles for a business class trip to Australia.
The kind of weird where Delta charges fewer miles than they’re ‘supposed to’ for flights to Europe (‘supposed to’ in a world where award charts still existed, natch).
The Best Annual Rental Car Promotion is Back: National’s Free Day With Every 2 Two-Day Rentals
The best rental car promotion is back. National Car Rental offers ‘1-2-Free’ each year and 2015’s starts tomorrow.
You earn a free rental day for every two qualifying rentals (mid-size or larger for 2 days or longer) between now and the end of January — that’s more than a five month earning period. And of course it is on top of the usual credits earned.

How A Reader Got Reimbursed for Meals and Hotel After a Weather Delay
I write about credit card trip delay coverage — how your credit card used to purchase tickets may cover the costs you incur during a long delay, like the price you pay for a hotel room and your meals too.
This really needs to be shouted from the rooftops since travel does get messed up, people do incur costs, and most get frustrated and leave real money on the table.

Both Hilton and Marriott are out with their promotions for next month through the end of the year. Hilton is offering a chain-wide double and triple points depending on the day of the week, and Marriott is offering “MegaBonus” bonus points with different targeted offers for different members.
Earn Miles for Your Utility Payments at Zero Cost
Two weeks ago I wrote about Plastiq and their limited-time offer to charge just 1.99% when you pay bills through their service with a MasterCard or American Express.
Plastiq’s new promotion is no fee to pay your utilities with a MasterCard when you schedule 6 or more payments up front.
Delta Fixes Partner Award Booking and Improves Korean Air Availability in a Big Way
Delta had a major glitch where you couldn’t see any award availability on partner airlines on their website when searching one way. They’ve fixed that. But they’ve also done something much better.
They used to black out Korean Air award redemption for nearly one third of the year. They just updated their terms and conditions to fix that, breaking out the different regions of the world which are supposed to have different ‘high demand dates’ in Korean’s program. Now you can use your miles for travel on Korean Air much more freely!
