I Need Your Help: Quick Survey to Have Your Voice Heard in Travel

I’m trying something new and would appreciate your help. I’m working with ExpertFlyer on a travel survey. It’s not meant to be a representative survey of how all people travel. Those surveys aren’t so interesting to me. Instead, the goal is to survey really engaged travelers — the kinds of people who use sophisticated online tools to manage their travel, and read blogs like this one.

I know how I feel, but want to know what this elite group of travelers thinks, about topics like:

Has air travel gotten better or worse for engaged travelers? Have revenue-based mileage programs affected your earning? What do you value most at an airport?

It’s less than 20 multiple choice questions, should take 2-5 minutes to complete.

I’ll share the results here, and also with the broader world, making your voice heard.

Here’s the survey Responses are anonymous. I don’t capture any personal information. The survey will remain open through Tuesday, November 24 and then it will take a very short bit to analyze the results. I’ll follow up in mid-December.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

  1. Well that escalated quickly. What’s up with questions 18 and 19? What a weird way to end a survey that’s theoretically about “Has air travel gotten better or worse for engaged travelers? Have revenue-based mileage programs affected your earning? What do you value most at an airport?”

  2. Yes. The last two questions. WHOA! Question authoring for surveys is a science and an artform. I won’t quote the questions but I thought there was some interesting wording –

  3. Didn’t realize it was for business travel. My travel is pretty much all leisure. Those two last questions though!

  4. Hahaha! Now I know what all the WOW’s about the last two questions are. Interesting — and wouldn’t it be great to know how many people are not telling the truth, even if the survey is anonymous!

  5. The survey should also ask business flyers in revenue-based ff programs if the number of miles they would earn ever factored into their travel decisions on getting from A to B. No doubt it happens. #airlines win, employers lose.

  6. Those last two questions seem to be there to generate some eye-catching headlines in upcoming posts.
