There are high wind warnings in the DC area. Gusts at National airport have been as high as 60 miles per hour.
And passengers are getting sick as flights descend into Dulles.
So, this report just came in from Dulles:
IAD UUA /OV KIAD/TM 1238/FL040/TP CRJ2/TB MOD-SEV/RM VERY BUMPY ON DESCENT. PRETTY MUCH EVERY ONE ON THE PLANE THREW UP. PILOTS WERE ON THE VERGE OF THROWING UP.

Since we know not everyone onboard gets fed it wasn’t the fish.

Sounds like a terrible flight to be on.
Can’t speak for the rest, but southwest has a travel advisory covering BWI, DCA, and IAD. Lots of flights in and out of BWI are cancelled (maybe 1/3-1/2 the flight board).
or it could just be the DC swamp
April 2016 returning from Toronto on Porter Airlines Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 into Dulles. The descent was very long for some reason and it was windy – not as windy as it is right now though. That is the only time I’ve really been worried during any of my flights. The plane was bouncing around pretty good for a long time. I was definitely glad to be back on the ground.
They probably ought to stop by Ben’s Chili Bowl to get some food back into their stomachs.
I’m at Dulles now. 30 gusting to 50. The departures board looks surprisingly normal, maybe 10% delays and a free cancellations, but no worse than a couple of inches of snow. I’m on time so far, but not looking forward to the climb out.
These days, I *always* feel like throwing up when I fly into Washington.
Our flight was cancelled early this morning, we should be taking off from Dulles now. But I think most transatlantic flights were cancelled. You are much better off if you are going west or south.
