- Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant catches a case of suspected human trafficking more often than not these cases are wrong, the result of employee prejudices, and based on overly broad indicators they learn that could apply to most anyone — but it’s worth also noting when things seem to work out well.
- Coke is raising soda prices because of aluminum tariffs. With basic economy getting carry on bags back, will these fares eliminate free soda? United President Scott Kirby, late of American Airlines, was President of US Airways when they decided to charge for water… Either way, don’t expect to be asked if you want the can, sir, soon.
- Alaska Airlines pilot flew while intoxicated, will get prison
- Rules for flying with a gun
How did things “work out well” on the HA situation? It wasn’t trafficking. I’m sure that the travelers didn’t enjoy being detained and then questioned by the FBI. The situation only existed because HA was obviously derelict in its duty in allowing all three girls to board the flight under the same name. Obviously, the TSA bears some of the guilt for that as well. The FAs appear to have acted properly, but they only had to do what they did because their coworkers didn’t fix the situation earlier.
Since soda can be bought in bottles and FAs mostly hate to give you the whole can even when asking.nicely I wonder why 2 liter bottles wouldn’t make more sense. They do this with water already. It would save the airlines money as the cost per ounce is almost always cheaper in 2 liter bottles. I also think they should never try to do full beverage service on flights under an hour or so. It just makes me nervous and a pain to use the lav.
Did u ever consider The Fact That They Do Not Give Everyone a Can because the Beverage Cart Only holds so many cans per drawer? and Everyone has a preference for what They Like? what are you suggesting….. multiple reloading Of carts just to complete a Service? airplanes are Not 7/11s where the resources are Unlimited.
#brteacher I agree. This may have been a situation which should have been investigated, but at the end of the day it wasn’t human trafficking. Don’t understand how the TV station, KITV, turned this into a news story. Also have no clue why the story has a picture of the smiling flight attendants with the caption “The three Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants that helped stop this human trafficking case,” since there was, in fact, no “human trafficking” case.
The article was updated once they realized it wasn’t just nosy flight attendants projecting their own predjudices. There was no case of human trafficking.
The whole “see something, say something” terroism BS created these monsters.
Eliminate free drinks and the remaining illusion of flight attendants being “attendants” will basically vanish for coach. They’ll basically be inflight vendors whose responsibilities include nagging passengers while hawking meals, credit cards and other junk.
