News and notes from around the interweb:
- A rather odd exchange between American Airlines Executive Vice President Elise Eberwein and twitter parody account @FakeOscarMunoz.
- St Petersburg’s Pulkovo airport is being renamed for Fyodor Dostoevsky and Moscow’s Vnukovo airport is being renamed for Andrei Tupolev.
- Wow Air sale of 4 Airbus A321s to Air Canada should generate $12 million in liquidity helping to keep them afloat while they pray to be taken over by Indigo Partners.

Qantas First Class Lounge, Sydney - How to become a flight attendant
- The Japan Airlines flight attendant who claimed not to have been drinking, it was all just the mouthwash? Yeah they found the bottle.
“An unserved bottle of champagne (6oz 170g) for Premium Economy was found empty in the galley area,” JAL said in a release, citing that fact as one basis for the conclusion.
The probe also revealed a total of three crew members smelt alcohol on her breath and four reported unusual behavior, while a similar report about her smelling of alcohol was made in November last year.

TFW you don’t know if you should take the time to educate a blogger about the miracles of Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable.
Um, that Trump article is from January 2017… almost 2 *years* ago.
Come on my man.
Geez fake news again
And Gary found a way to drop Tyler Cowen’s name the other day. It’s almost as if Gary has some sort of finance / econ background yet can’t into AR / AP.
C’mon Gary. Do better.
I have some really important information for you all. Atlanta and New England look really strong. They might meet in the Superbowl. Whoops, that was two years ago and New England won. Darn, those sneaky time warps again.
I guess it is not as bad as the New York Time article today (12/26/18) “Did a Queens Podiatrist Help Donald Trump Avoid Vietnam?” Everyone tried to get out of the Vietnam war. Did not the New York Times hear about the hippie movement. Or Bill Clinton. Or Chaney. Those time warps are just everywhere right now.
Time warps must be in the weather now. Hard to fathom, but then again, time warps are usually mysterious in nature.
@Gary: The article on lounges states that the BA Concorde Room is open to OW Emerald fliers. I’m not sure that’s true. I thought BA specifically excluded Emeralds by calling the CR a “premium” lounge.
I next to never fly out of LHR T5 any more since I avoid BA like the plague, but I am curious…
@Woofie – you are absolutely correct. As a AA/EXP who frequently flies through LHR on BA, the Concorde lounge is reserved for those flying in BA First. There is another First Class lounge across the hall which can be utilized by OW Emerald, but we have flown AA First from LAX-LHR transferring to BA domestic/Europe flights which offer at best Club Europe and denied entry into the Concorde lounge and directed to the “other” first class lounge since we were not travelling on 1st on a BA flight and while we were in 1st on a OW Carrier, it was not ticketed under a BA flight number. However, we recently traveled from LAX-DEL via LHR on AA ticketed flights, but since we were on BA equipment in 1st, accessed the Concorde lounge.
Gary, long time reader and big fan but I do have one piece of constructive criticism. The linked Business Insider about lounges is horrendous. It uses lots of factually incorrect statements and even worse, plenty of ’embedded’ AKA cheap, unoriginal content that the author did not create and does not benefit the actual creators in any way whatsoever. Is there any way to vet these articles before posting?
