5000 Points Per Hilton Stay Through July 6 at All Properties Worldwide

Hilton HHonors is offering 5000 bonus points per stay now through July 6. Registration required.

This is generally stackable with other promotions like the current double points promotion (that you also must register for).

This is an exceptional value for shorter (especially 1 night!) stays, as I value 5000 Hilton points at $20. Getting an extra $20 on top of the usual points and double points means you should be getting back better than a 25% rebate on a single $150 room night.

It’s only for the next 19 days of course, a period where in the US there’s some holiday travel (and where holiday travel may not entail full service hotel stays) but not a ton of business travel.

Mostly I love seeing another promotion that’s stackable and where no properties are excluded from the earning. Hopefully that’s a pattern we’ll see from Hilton going forward.

Offer terms and conditions:

*Offer valid for stays completed between June 17 and July 6, 2015, (“Promotion Period”) at any hotel in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio. Hilton HHonors™ members must first register through this page prior to check-out of your first stay within the Promotion Period. Registered HHonors members will earn 5,000 HHonors Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. A “stay” is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Registered HHonors members will only receive Bonus Points for nights completed during the Promotion Period regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends. Offer subject to availability at participating hotels and cannot be combined with other select offers and rates.

There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points or miles to appear in your HHonors account. Offer is not transferable, is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

  1. Would 5k points be worth far more than twenty bucks when redeemed at a cat 1 or 2? I see many of those going for $100+ a night.

  2. @David unquestionably you can get higher redemption values than 4/10ths of a cent per point. My valuation discussion though explains why that’s the value I place on the points (roughly speaking, because it’s the point at which one should in many cases be indifferent to holding points or cash)

  3. @Gary sez: “This is an exceptional value for shorter (especially 1 night!) stays…”

That, coming @Gary about HHonors, should be interpreted as saying that this is a really exciting promo, on top of all the stackable promos that Hilton is currently running.

How exciting is it all? I have a 7-night stay coming up in a couple of days at Conrad HKG, which is already running 2-3 brand-specific promos in addition to the extended “Double Your Honors” global promo; throw in this promo and pay for it with the AMEX Surpass for additional 12HH points/$, and you take home a huge bundle…a relatively long and pricey stay + multiple promos = bonanza!

Hilton is, of course, being so generous because, by any measure, they are currently making a lot of money and want to thank those — loyal members — who their internal data show to be responsible for their wealth and to encourage them to do more of what they’ve been doing — stay more and redeem more!

  4. @DCS “Hilton is, of course, being so generous because, by any measure, they are currently making a lot of money and want to thank those — loyal members — who their internal data show to be responsible for their wealth and to encourage them to do more of what they’ve been doing — stay more and redeem more!”

If you think that’s why Hilton HHonors is running this program you do not understand anything about the economics of hotel marketing.

  5. won’t let me register; keeps asking me to join when inputting login info. I can log into my account fine with the same info, just can’t register for promo. Targeted?.

  6. @Gary sez: “If you think that’s why Hilton HHonors is running this program you do not understand anything about the economics of hotel marketing.”

Not surprisingly you did not bother telling how Hilton Honnors run their program because I suspect you have no clue, but just in case you do but are being coy, why don’t you enlighten us with your understanding of “economics of hotel marketing” and I will just produce a statement from Hilton that states precisely that what they’re doing is what I’d said.

You’ve been also surprised to see no properties opting out promos. Well, I have not been because it makes perfect sense. During good financial times is when franchisees earn more money than Blackstone, which then is playing hardball by threatening to penalize franchisees who refuse to participate in HHonors…

Now the floor is yours to explain Hilton’s generosity of late through your understanding “the economics of hotel marketing”…

  7. @DCS reread my post and my earlier one linked to. No properties are opting out because the program is funding it at least substantially, properties aren’t being solicited for it. And this is a short-term promo, not a thank you, but both a test and a period where bookings are a bit lighter than other peak summer periods.

  8. @Chris — You must have accidentally tried Hyatt’s website thinking it was Hilton Honnors’ 😉

  9. @Gary — I read it and (1) you did not explain Hilton’s generosity based on your understanding of “the economics of hotel marketing” and (b) you are, of course, wrong about why all the properties are participating in promos — it would be silly for Balckstone to bankroll the participation of recalcitrant franchisees when good times are rolling for all…

  10. I have a road trip coming up and thought I’d used the IHG targeted promo, but I was only targeted for 5000 after 5 stays. so I switched – not much different between a Hampton and HI Express. My 5 night stay should net 25K HH points, and the individual hotels were cheaper. Plus IHG doesn’t give status recognition on award stays so Hilton is better. finally a promotion I can cash in on with my small travel opportunities. Thanks, Hilton!
