Etihad’s new Airbus A321LRs will feature a first class suite in addition to lie flat business class product. That’s a surprising choice considering that the market for first class is usually on the longest flights, rather than medium-distance routes likely to be service with these aircraft, and because even most of the airline’s long haul widebodies do not offer first class. I absolutely love the idea of better products and to see Etihad’s return to the super-premium space after years of cutbacks. American Airlines Gives Away Your Seat If They Think You’ll Be Late—Then Denies Compensation When You’re Not

An American Airlines passenger showed up at the airport on time. Their flight took off on time and landed on time. They made it to their connecting gate – but the airline told them that because of a “delay” they wouldn’t be allowed to board. Their seat was given to someone else. American Airlines Sues Chicago For Illegally Handing Gates To United—And They Might Actually Have A Case

American Airlines has filed suit against the City of Chicago over their plans to take gates away from the airline at O’Hare airport and give more gates to United. American’s position seems reasonably strong, but it’s hardly a slam dunk. American is on solid ground, but a court could buy an alternative start date for the ramp up. And winning the timeline is the linchpin for an injunction.
