News and notes from around the interweb:
- Passenger who slapped United flight attendant faces 21 years in prison. It’s only the passengers who are supposed to be assaulted on United.
- Shocking. When American Airlines lacks planes due to the 737 MAX grounding and 737-800s that were poorly retrofitted they… pull aircraft out of New York JFK.
Well, maybe this wasn't as "humorous" as I intended.
Now, SEA-JFK has also been removed from the schedule until the 28th. They most definitely seem to be using JFK for a bit of a "goto," IMHO,for where to source needed planes (first SAN now this) to make up for the grounded ones https://t.co/lslfrftf3p— JonNYC (@xJonNYC) March 22, 2019
- Deloitte’s 2019 travel and hospitality outlook
- Emirates up to quadruple miles on flights
- Lawsuit alleges JetBlue pilots drugged 3 female crew members and sexually assaulted them. If the facts are as claimed this is horrible. I was asked to do media on the topic and declined, though, because I have no specific insight into the facts beyond what’s been publicly reported.
- Hotels have new creative ways to get you drunk in your room like in-room bloody mary bars (HT: Joe Brancatelli)
“It’s only the passengers who are supposed to be assaulted on United.”
Good one, Gary!
The passenger is a 24yo woman. How hard could she slap? The crybaby flight attendant is a pussy for pressing charges. I’m not saying he deserved to be slapped; I’m saying he’s a pussy.
The woman deserves some time behind bars, but 21 years does seem incredibly extreme. Airlines colluding on a non-governmental no fly list would cut down on the number of many types of incidents.
IS FACING, not IS SENTENCED TO. BIG difference, I am sure she will get months, or maybe a year.
I confessed I have felt like slapping a United Airlines employee or two in my day. But that would be WRONG…and so is flying on United Airlines. I quit UA in 2013. All good now. No slapping.
They make one Bloody Mary and leave the cart in your room? Do they throw out all the vegetables afterwards? I don’t want any of those food items after they sat all day in someone’s room.
She should get like 21 seconds based on Manafort’s sentence.
Seams a little harsh to me, I mean yes there should be no hitting anyone, but what about when they dragged a flyer off the plane, should that person have the same fate
