Southwest Airlines Pilot Gets Married On Flight From Las Vegas

Proposals are popular – almost de rigueur – on airplanes. And weddings are popular in Las Vegas, Elvis lookalike as the officiant or not. But how often do you see a wedding on the flight, taking place while leaving Las Vegas?

Southwest Airlines pilot York Zentner met his fiance’ Sabrina Solesbee at one of the airline’s ticket counters in Las Vegas, where he’s based. York proposed to Sabrina on a plane. And they plan to live in Utah. So a flight between the two cities seemed like the perfect place to tie the knot, once the aircraft crossed into Utah airspace.

Wedding guests booked tickets for the flight, and other passengers were effectively ‘invited’ to the wedding. Another pilot served as the officiant.

Earlier this year a couple who met on a Southwest Airlines flights were married by the pastor who sat in the middle seat between them in a Southwest-themed ceremony. And in 2017 Southwest hosted a spontaneous wedding in the sky suggested by a flight attendant. The ‘LUV’ carrier indeed.
