1. More hack reporting and worthless click bait BS from Gary Leff.

   “It is unclear why the man was carrying such large number of bills, or if it had anything to do with the disturbance.”

   So…..actually the headline should say “Man causes disturbance that diverts flight” or maybe “Gary Leff, should he return to third grade to get a better grasp of the English language before pretending to be a journalist?”. Nice try there Gary, still not real great at this whole journalism thing are you.

4. In Gary’s defense, the linked article headline is “United Airlines Passenger Carrying Large Wad of Cash Causes Emergency Landing”. So your journalism gripe is really with Newsweek.

   Whether this incident is notable enough to be included even in a roundup post is another question.

5. The covid testing at DFW was super efficient fwiw.

   Be careful when booking in advance, somehow their form reset to today’s date during the process and I had to contact them to switch to the correct date. Other than that I had my result

7. I for one, appreciate these posts about strange aircraft occurrences. I never am lucky and get to see these people on my flights. If he’s carrying that much cash in his bag is one thing, but to display it openly is meant to intimidate the people around him: “Don’t mess with me, I’m someone important.”

   You have to be feel quite inferior to require that kind of negative validation from strangers, which probably lends a reason why his behavior led to the flight being diverted to Denver.

   This seems to also mention the episode with the “stinky poo diaper” from the other day happening on the same flight? What the hell is going on with this flight?

9. When I read the linked article I thought the fact that he was carrying a large wad of cash was irrelevant to the story and hence the headline was wrong.

   But when you look at the photo it is indeed his most distinguishing characteristic. Look at how much money he is holding! I wouldn’t even call it a wad — it’s much more than that.

   Imagine that they guy was dressed up as Snoopy. It would be perfectly legitimate to say “Man Dressed as Snoopy Causes Flight to Divert” even if the cause of the diversion was not related to his costume.

11. FWIW, the Delta pilot is probably out of luck. The resident lawyer writes and negotiates Nondisclosure Agreements everyday and if you’re stupid enough to get into discussions with an entity bigger than you about an idea they have the ability to steal without an ironclad NDA, you’re screwed – your idea is not protected, only the execution of that idea, e.g. the source code, which Delta probably didn’t have access to.

    Not only that, he should check his contract – your employer often owns any ideas you come up with while working for them, even ideas that aren’t directly in his job duties. Can’t tell you how many university professors or company engineers come up with great ideas as side projects, but their employers own it all according to their employment agreements unless you negotiate something that says they don’t.
