I wrote a little over a week ago that Hyatt would announce a new promotion of 2022 bonus points every 2 nights, Jan 15 – April 20. And they’re doing exactly that. One piece I didn’t share was an additional bonus for Hyatt co-brand credit card customers.
- Register by March 15, 2022 and earn on stays January 15 through April 20, 2022
- You’ll receive 2,022 Bonus Points for every two qualifying nights after registration, up to 20 nights, at all Hyatt brands as well as M life destinations, participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, and Lindblad Expeditions. AMR Collection Resorts aren’t yet part of World of Hyatt so aren’t eligible.
- And consumer and small business Chase Hyatt credit card cardmembers earn an additional 1,000 Bonus Points per eligible stay, after registration, up to 10 stays during the promotion period “at 180+ participating hotels across 10 U.S. cities including Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Los Angeles; Nashville, Tenn.; New York City; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.” Here’s the list of participating properties.
As always even if you’re not a Hyatt regular, or don’t anticipate a Hyatt stay during the promotion period, you should register now because if a Hyatt stay comes up you’re unlikely to remember to come back and do it later.
Through January 31 many big city hotels offer 1000 American AAdvantage miles per stay. These seem to be hotels that need a bit of extra help, major urban business destinations that may not get as much tourism especially during winter. Although Nashville likely does, and winter isn’t so bad in Dallas.
It’s hard to get too excited about an average of 1000 bonus points per night (~ $14) for every two nights stayed. It’s a little better with the co-brand bonus. Hyatt will be expiring points again after the end of the month and they aren’t extending free night certificates the way that Marriott and Hilton are. This all feels more like a return to ‘normal’ at Hyatt than at other chains.
Gary, any word from Hyatt as to elite qualification requirements for 2022?
Globalist. I had three hard earned free night certificates, one a 1-7, that I could use in January. But expiring the 31st. Emailed “my” concierge to ask for one extra month. No reply. But got a mass email from him days later. Called. Solid no. But if I call in after they expire they might be able to do something. I had heard about this, but not counting on it . So using at an inconveniently-for-my stay located Hyatt House as Hyatt footprint did not work for me during late 2021.
First time I have felt really disappointed with Hyatt. One month. Or was willing to book the January right then on the phone. Marriott did well by me/us (status there too). Going to have a bitter taste for a when booking Hyatt. Hard to leave them, but maybe…
are these only paid nights or do nights with credit card free night count?
I may have missed it
