News and notes from around the interweb:
- How to use the Virgin Atlantic website to find Delta Air Lines award space available (at low prices) to partners
- U.S. Korean Air credit cards revamped
- Second New York JFK Delta Sky Club not the only crowded location with lines, but the epicenter of the greatest crowding and longest lines so this should help – we’ll see if the nearly 14,000 square foot additional club with seating for 250 is enough.
- It didn’t “fall from the sky” but the passenger reaction seems like they experienced a roller coaster.
- Lifetime elite status needs to be valuable (to drive higher wallet share) while also not discourage business once achieved (so count towards earning higher levels of status, or otherwise provide extra rewards for incremental flying).
I think most airlines do lifetime status very poorly, costing them millions in lost revenue opportunities, and they don't even know it.
Lifetime status incentivizes spend behavior with a specific group of travellers.

– Drive incremental spend that…— Mark (@drdoot) July 26, 2023
@ Gary — Keep the bad press coming for Spirit! It keeps the fares down, while they fly the YOUNGEST fleet on all US mainline carriers. They are the best value by far and away of all US airlines (just always book a backup plan using another airline’s refundable miles…).
@ Gary — Regarding status matches, AA fails miserably at this. There is really no reason to give any cash to AA if you are lifetime Plat (isn’t veryone?) and have a decent bank of miles. DL isnt much better. UA is significantly better since you get your lifetime status fior two people registered at your address as long as you live.
AS is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. Too bad AS didn’t implement their changes 20 years ago. Then, we might have been able to achive 1 MM or 2 MM on AS and still have a significant lifetime remaining. Now, it’s probably too late, as it would take us about 18 years just to reach 1 MM.
I have a question about American airlines on july94,2023.can someone contact me please
Have questions about AAl flight qr725 to Chicago ORD JULY04,2023
@Gary – I sure hope that AA reads this regarding lifetime status . They are wayyyyyy behind and provide ZERO incentive to remain loyal . Topping out at Lifetime Platinum is ages behind the competition- made sense before Plat Pro but now is basically worthless . It seems AA has dug in on this issue and doesn’t even consider a lifetime program “upgrade” .
The new DL club seems so small for JFK. 14,000 feet when the United Club in EWR terminal C is 30,000 square feet and the one in terminal A is 15,000 square feet, both in addition to another huge club opening there soon, and the Polaris Lounge.
Frontier airlines is the worst airlines for customer service, boarding check in is terrible regarding personal bag.
