News and notes from around the interweb:
- Emirates actually trains flight attendants on coffee service I’ll never understand why airlines don’t use bottled water to make coffee at least in first class though.
Emirates Cabin Crew undergoes specialized training in the art of coffee. They learn about the origins of coffee, different blends, and the techniques to prepare a flawless cup for every customer. This includes hands-on sessions where they perfect their serving and presentation skills, ensuring that each coffee is delivered with finesse. Notably, First Class passengers are offered their coffee in a choice of exquisite Royal Doulton fine bone mugs or cups, while Business Class passengers sip from elegant fine bone china mugs. Additionally, Emirates maintains strict quality control over the water used in coffee preparation. Regular monitoring and maintenance of water tanks, supply lines, and transportation equipment guarantee the provision of safe and top-quality water for brewing that perfect cup of coffee on board.

Great move by EK on LAVAZZA, although, it could have been Illy.
Never understood why airlines not only can’t do shaken cocktails or sommelier wine such as in photos from the Golden Age of Travel; but they can’t even get basic coffee right. Kudos to EK.
It’s great when you can have a good cup of coffee onboard a flight.
@Paul. I totally agree.
