News and notes from around the interweb:
- American Airlines will fly its last Philadelphia – Tel Aviv flight on January 4.
- One hacker has been arrested in Delhi and police are conducting raids to nab other suspects in the British Airways account hack that affected most of us (since accounts had to be reset even if no points were taken).
- Man tasered on board Ireland-bound flight for ‘insisting on wearing his man purse’
British police boarded as aircraft at London’s Gatwick airport this morning after a man became irate reportedly wanting to take two pieces of hand luggage onto the plane.
- A United flight from Dublin to Washington Dulles struck the jetway at gate D3 on arrival, damaging an engine. I imagine the jetway didn’t fare well either (as they say “you should see the other guy!”).
- 15 months ago I wrote about Atlantic City trying to take the home of a disabled man who inherited the property from his mother – a Holocaust survivor – when she was murdered. They wanted the home but didn’t even have a specified use for it. The Institute for Justice, the same organization that successfully stopped Atlantic City from taking the home of a senior citizen in order to give it to Donald Trump for a parking lot, sued. Yesterday a court stopped Atlantic City although the litigation in this matter likely is not over. (HT: Heels First Travel)
- India reveals world’s first 100 percent solar-powered airport. It’s Cochin (COK).
How did the hackers steal all those BA points? And how did they expect to convert the points to cash?
From the article I think it states they hacked or had access to Amadeus. From there they were able to access PNR’s. From there they created executive club accounts and put ff numbers into the pnr.
