News and notes from around the interweb:
- Airbnb Superhost took 2100 photos of home rental guests naked and having sex using hidden cameras. He faces charges, and 17 guests are now suing.
- American Airlines is hiring for 400 remote res agents based in Miami but it’s easy to see why these positions are hard to fill. $13.05 starting pay, “Applicants must have their own computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, surge protector, and internet access….Reservationists must also be located within a 75-mile radius of MIA.”
- Why are all the espresso machines broken? I’ve gotten several emails about out of service machines in American Airlines lounges. The machine was broken in the club lounge during my recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. But this is really impressive:
This must be a world record! At my home @EscapeLoungesUS @AskAmex @AmericanExpress lounge and the Espresso machine in both SMF lounges had been out of order for more than two years.. @garyleff @thepointsguy Pls help me get caffeinated, guys https://t.co/kfZ4FYApce pic.twitter.com/jvfgyZboFo

- When I got a media release from ALPA, “Delta Pilots to Picket at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on March 10; Protesting Fatiguing Schedules” it occurred to me, if they’re so fatigued flying FAA-regulated schedules shouldn’t they be spending their days off resting?
Delta pilots will be picketing at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to protest Delta management’s scheduling practices that have caused pilots to fly long and often fatiguing trips. Hundreds of Delta pilots in uniform will be on the picket line to demand Delta fix pilot schedules.
- IHOP has a new loyalty program earn one free pancake for every $5 spent, or trade in for higher value redemptions through their Stack Exchange.
Oh man, this Airbnb story (which I know exists too often) comes in bad timing – just checking into an Airbnb tomorrow after quite a few years of avoiding those (had no other viable option this time).
Yuck.
Seems the slimeball VRBO and AirBnB “host” had a hidden camera disguised as a power adapter. How did the guests who discovered the hidden camera locate the hidden camera? Or was it that they suspected a hidden camera, reported it to the police and then in the process of executing the police search warrant they discovered the hidden camera?
Does anyone know why American requires the Remote Reservation agents to be within 75 miles of MIA? $13.05 is a very weak offer in Palm Beach/Dade counties but if someone could live in rural Arkansas etc. I think the offer would be more attractive….
Gary,
Always enjoy the blog, but whenever I’m cruising through my RSS feed and see a seedy headline about sex and/or scantily clad women (and this is just in my “frequent flyer feed”), I know it’s your post. You gotta chill out, it’s a bit creepy.
Someone’s going to pay.
Will definitely be prosecuted under the Penal code
He sounds like potential to be next Governor of Texas.
Pancake deals!
If the Airbnb person wants to watch me whack off or bang some girl, as long as he doesn’t post it in the internet, i dont gaf
