News and notes from around the interweb:
- A man turned his backyard shed into the #1 ranked restaurant on tripadvisor using fake reviews. Then he actually opened up, for one night only. (HT: @SmarterRetail)
- The Economist covers my review of American’s new Boeing 737 MAX: “Passengers do not mind thinner seats but tighter toilets are another issue”
- Wyndham credit card 45,000 point signup bonus is back
- AirlineRatings.com now compares airline safety ratings
- American is retrofitting their Airbus A321s with new extra large overhead bins like they’ve put in the 737 MAX and will retrofit onto their other 737s when those get tiny lavatories. Of course the A321s will not all have seat power until 2021.
Large overhead bins on Boeing 737 MAX - Department of Homeland Security is considering merging Global Entry and PreCheck
- Delta takeoff aborted as another plane tried to land on its runway at New York JFK
- IATA is leaving Venezuela

I was on an Alaska Air 737-900 that had the tiny lavatory sink. At least Alaska has retained decent legroom.
