Bilt Rewards May Rent Day: 100% Rebate On Points Used For Rent, Private Restaurant Deals

Bilt Rewards offers creative promotions every month targeted at the 1st, “Rent Day,” making paying rent more rewarding. Sometimes they’re bonuses of up to 150% on transfers to partners like Air France KLM, Virgin Atlantic or Emirates. And sometimes they’re fitness deals.

Rent Day offers aren’t always going to match my style, and this month’s major offer doesn’t, but that’s ok: they’re the most interesting program with new offers every single month, and new features being added all the time. They’ve just added Air France KLM Flying Blue Gold status and a free Blade helicopter trip for Platinum members!

And everyone’s tastes are different. While this month focuses on redeeming points for rent, and this is a low value redemption, it’s also something that many members actually do with their points and this offer makes that better. Plus, the fact that so many people redeem points at low value like this is a cross-subsidy to those of us who know better. If everyone transferred their points to Hyatt, or to Air France at a 150% bonus, the economics of the program wouldn’t be sustainable.

So everyone who doesn’t read this site, please take advantage of this month’s Rent Day rebate on redeeming points for rent!

100% Rebate On Points Redeemed For Rent (Still Not A Good Deal)

Occasionally I’ve looked at the Bilt Home Collection and found some interesting things, though I’ve never redeemed my points for any. They’ve had some great art in the past.

This Rent Day they have an interesting promotion that you should not take advantage of, unless you’re already redeeming Bilt points towards your rent which you also should not be doing – since that’s cashing out your points at just half a cent apiece.

Between April 25 and May 1, when you redeem 1,000 to 50,000 points towards rent you’ll get 100% of your points back to spend on Bilt Home Collection items. That segregated set of points will expire in six months if unused.

This offer does make redeeming for rent a better than usual deal, but it starts off from such a low base that it doesn’t do enough to rescue the value. For instance, for 20,000 points you can have a blender.

Unfortunately the 5,000 point lint roller is sold out.

But if you max out on this promotion, spending 50,000 points towards $250 in rent, you can fill up your drawer with 10 pairs of socks.

Exclusive Restaurant Prix Fixe

Bilt is bringing back chef tasting menus and even omakase dinners “alongside fellow Bilt Members for a family-style meal” for $150 or 15,000 points for two, which will undoubtedly be a fantastic deal at restaurants in New York, Miami, Seattle, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas and Boston.

Limited bookings open in the app on April 26th based on your Bilt status:

  • 12:00 p.m. Eastern for Platinums
  • 12:10 p.m. Eastern for Golds
  • 12:20 p.m. Eastern for Silvers
  • 12:30 p.m. Eastern for base members

Standard Rent Day Offers Are Back

Bilt’s standard other Rent Day offers are back for May, too:

  • Double points-earning with their co-brand card. As they’ve done each rent day, Bilt Mastercard cardmembers earn 6x on dining; 4x on travel; and 2x on other spend (excluding rent) up to 10,000 bonus points total and as long as they use their card 5 times each statement period to qualify to earn points.

  • SoulCycle Rides. Rent Day Rides offer a complimentary bike in special classes booked through the Bilt Rewards app and one rider attending a ride that day gets a month of rent paid by Bilt.

  • Free points trivia. Answer 5 questions in the Bilt app to win up to 150 points, and if you get them all correct you get a bonus 100 points as well.

  • Rent Free Game. This month the game is updated. The 10 high scores will free rent, and the next 600 scoring members earn points. It’s still Family Feud-style. The tie-breaker is how early you played the game (it launches April 25 at Noon Eastern).
