News and notes from around the interweb:
- Tnooz carries my predictions about how online hotel booking will change in the near future.
- Frugal Travel Lawyer tells you how to get free Godiva chocolate every month.
- A stewardess for Nigerian airline Arik Air was arrested after she was found with six kilos of cocaine at Heathrow. The drugs were discovered “on a bus which had been used to transport air crew following a flight from Lagos.” If it had been a smaller amount of blow I’d have considered it a reasonable defense that one needs mind-altering substances to deal with busing around Heathrow’s underbelly. - One Mile at a Time writes that the cash portion of AviancaTaca LifeMiles cash and points awards seems to have gotten more expensive. Whereas it used to be 1.3 cents per mile, it now appears to run at between 1.4 and 1.6 cents per mile. The price increase appeared without any advance notice, but these awards still represent a darned good deal.
they keep devaluing Gary. You sure you want to recommend them?
I’d rather pay 1.8 with USAIR and be confident I can use them (with mixed award legs to boot)…
@Michael – don’t be so confident about the future, LifeMiles are a good hedge against revenue-based programs and they have access to seats (SQ F, LH F) that US does not. But agree they’re kind of a pain!
Free chocolate!! Off to check it out.Jana @ 333 Days of Hand Lettering
I’m going to go to every Godiva in town and get a free piece of chocolate! Blow the roof off that deal.
My wife has been doing the free Godiva thing every month for about four years!
The problem with the Godiva offer is that you will now have to pay a big monthly fee to your local health club!
