Air Canada Suspends Anti-Semitic Pilot Who Wished Death To Israel

Air Canada has suspended a pilot who went on a social media posting rampage against Israel and Jews. The pilot posted to his since-deleted Instagram account in uniform draped in a Palestinian flag and stating, Israel – Hitler is proud of you – terrorist state,” “F- you Israel. Burn in hell” and “Keep the world clean” as a caption to eliminating an Israeli flag.

Never Book Codeshare Flights: Trying To Get Out Of Tel Aviv Edition

Sometimes there’s no avoiding it, and you need to put more than one airline in the same reservation. That’s supposed to be the point of airline alliances, and joint ventures are supposed to work even better, though in practice they rarely do.

And sometimes it’s cheaper to book a codeshare or partner itinerary. Just know that this savings isn’t ‘free’ but rather comes at a customer service cost if there’s a schedule change or if your plans change.

American Airlines Says First Class Passengers Aren’t Entitled To Meals

American Airlines advertises meals as one of the benefits of first class travel. Specifically, “Meal service on flights over 900 miles during meal times.” They say they are “elevating your dining experience” and that meals in premium cabins “are healthy, delicious” – so it’s not just food, it’s good food that’s good for you, too. Of course airlines advertise one thing to convince you to buy a ticket, and to spend more. And they deliver something else. One of the most common occurrences is advertising their most comfortable seats to get you to spend more to upgrade from coach to first class, and then delivering something entirely different. Once A Maverick, Southwest Airlines Turned Into A Creature of Government Cronyism

No matter what you think of JSX even (and they are fully legal, achieve high safety standards, and deliver a quality product), it’s embarrassing to see one-time maverick Southwest Airlines having turned into a creature of cronyism. They’re using the government to shut down competition at Dallas Love Field the way that major airlines in the 1970s tried to use government to shut down competition from them.

United Airlines Flight Attendants Union Thinks Their Own Members Are Rubes

The United Airlines flight attendants union, AFA-CWA, has seen its negotiations with the airline drag on. They’ve been without a new contract since the last one become amendable in August 2021. And they have been talking up strikes.

Keyed to the airline’s announcement of an order for 110 new planes, flight attendants union President Ken Diaz put out a statement suggesting the airline is prioritizing planes over people.

Star Alliance Member Scandinavian To Join Delta-Air France Transatlantic Joint Venture

With Lufthansa tied to United and Air Canada, Air France KLM tied to Delta, and British Airways tied to American the transatlantic market has become far more concentrated inside of “metal neutral, anti-trust immunized, revenue-sharing joint ventures.” There are only a handful of players across the Pond operating with significant frequency outside of the one of these deals.
