Bilt Rewards is a new loyalty program for renters. Just joining lets you earn points for paying rent via electronic funds transfer. And they have a no annual fee Mastercard that earns points for paying rent, as well as bonus points on travel and dining. Their points transfer to American Airlines, Hyatt, and several other programs.
The program launched over the summer and most people have to ‘waitlist’ in order to join. It turns out, I’m told, that only a few people have been processed off of the waitlist. That’s supposed to change in batches over the coming months.
However you can skip the waitlist, join right away, and start earning points. And you can be among the first with access to their new no annual fee card offering points for paying rent, bonus points on travel and dining, and premium Mastercard protections that many cards now lack.
To be clear I do not receive any sort of referral credit. I spoke with the folks at Bilt and they shared a code that I have permission to offer readers that skips the waitlist entirely: VFTW4BILT.
You can go to BiltRewards.com/waitlist, enter your email to joint the waitlist, and you’ll be asked if you have a fast track code. VFTW4BILT will take you right in.
If you pay rent, you’ll want to be a member of this program (timely rent payments can actually be reported to credit agencies, potentially improving your credit score too). And this gets you immediate access instead of having to wait months to be invited off their waitlist.
LOL, yea this CC is so exclusive I need a code from the gatekeeper Gary!
$100 this notion came from Richard Kerr.
@ Gary — So this generates a hard pull?
@Gene – joining the program should not generate a hard pull.
Applying for the card, I assume, will.
Am I missing something? This credit card awards one point per dollar for paying rent, just like most reward credit cards. I don’t see the benefit of using this particular card to pay rent versus using any other reward credit card. Unless you specifically want to transfer the points to the airline/hotel partners of Bilt and your other credit cards don’t include those partners?
Isn’t this run by TPG
Built rewards?
Can you use any credit card to pay rent and what are the fees?
@Jill – this is not run by TPG, although it did seem like Brian Kelly had some sort of an arrangement with the Bilt folks
@Rick I’m not familiar with this program. I started to apply, but when following the steps it wasn’t clear if I was applying for a rewards program vs a credit card. I don’t want another cc, I just wanted the loyalty program
But if it IS a credit card, the difference between this vs Red Aviator etc is that Bilt card is NO-annual-fee. That’s important.
Still, I don’t want another cc. Some differentiation between the “loyalty program” vs “credit card” would be expected.
@Gary – Are we required to get the cc at some point or can we just join for the rental rewards?
@Sean – no requirement to get credit card
This code doesn’t work on me.
Do you have another code?
