I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.
As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).
Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.
Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.
Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.
Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:
- Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Here are the rules:
- You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? I only, and always, worry that my checked luggage will be lost.
I always worry about how my luggage will hold up against all the beating it takes in the baggage handling process.
Yes, I worry that the bottles of liquor I am bringing back from an overseas trip will break!
I just worry that Lufthansa will loose my luggage and they always do.
I worry that it will be crushed like a bug.
Is there anything worse than the suprise of smashed bags?
I always worry about either stuff getting stolen or losing my luggage. So I usually keep all the important stuff in my carry-on just-in-case.
Always worry as I have had checked luggage lost, stolen from, and damaged. I went 15 years without checking a bag. Just had a baby, though, and now find it impossible, given all the baby gear, to not check luggage . . . and face all the worries that come with it.
I’m generally not worried about my luggage, but there are international airports that I try to avoid connecting through because I’ve had items stolen and luggage broken.
Do I worry something is going to happen to my luggage? Not Really, I rarely check bags and my carry on wheelie is the Briggs & Riley 21″ Baseline I have had since 1999 – had it repaired once at no cost. I also have a small cabin duffle that fits nicely on the top of the baseline, but lately, I have been using my NorthFace Surge Day-Pack as my personal item. my travel rule is never take more than you can handle and still have one hand/arm free 🙂
I normally keep my bag with me so I’m not too worried about it.
I worry that my luggage will get torn/damaged, as it has in the past. That’s one reason why I try to only carry-on my luggage now.
I always worry about my checked bags
I too worry about lost luggage. When we have two suitcases, we always both pack some in each so we’ll both have SOMETHING if they lose one!
While I have never had luggage stolen, many times traveling internationally I have seen sleepy and unattentive people have things stolen from their luggage while waiting for customs, passport control and taxis. Always keep your eyes out… especially traveling internationally.
I mostly use cheap luggage, so I am somewhat worried about something physically happening to them. On longer trips, I’m also worried about luggage getting lost.
I worry about my luggage for sure. When it’s a larger back and I go for the convenience of checking it, it’s out of sight but not out of mind. In fact, it’s on my mind doubly so for being out of sight!
I worry that my checked bag will not make it to my destination.
Every time I check a bag, I worry. That’s why I try not to check — but sometimes it can’t be avoided.
I don’t worry too much – credit cards and/or the airline will cover most losses, plus it would be a good way to get some nice new clothes!
I worry if my bag is sturdy enough to withstand handling when it is checked.
No, but I can go traveling go a week with carryon. 🙂
I don’t worry about my luggage because most of what’s in there is cheap and replaceable.
I worry that my luggage will be broken like a guitar in the cargo hold of a United jet.
We worry more on if we’ll ever see our luggage than we do of the cases being damaged. Although after our last effort with AA where 3 bags where damaged I might have to rethink this.
I also worry that my bags will be lost. And they did get lost, one time, when I went to Sweden on vacation. Spent three days without my bags until the airline finally found and them and delivered them to me (cannot remember what airlines it was, though)!
I do worry that something will happen to my luggage. I have at least twice had it delayed. The first time I did not know how to pack and I was in a bad place without it. The second time was easier. My favorite bag is also no more. It bit the dust after the handle broke. It was not an expensive bag so I threw it out, i would love to have one that would be worth being fixed. To ahve them fix it for you would be an utter joy.
I don’t worry much and have had my bags lost for 3 days once. Wasn’t fun, but they all arrive. The worst was on the shuttle from the terminal to my car in the long-term parking lot when someone took my case off the bus … luckily I noticed and stopped the driver, ran to find the guy who was just putting MY case into his car!
Worry – of course! You never know what is going to happen when you leave your luggage at check-in!
No I don’t. I think of my luggage as utility pieces that I expect will see wear and tear. Of course a lifetime guarantee is awesome!
Nope! I’m a light packer, and rarely ever have to check a bag, so it’s always on hand and in sight.
Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? No, not really. If I don’t check it, I usually take pretty good care of my stuff.
I absolutely worry about my luggage: I’ve had it crushed, lost, broken open, taken by mistake by someone else, sent on the wrong flight etc., etc. I’ve never had luggage that came with a guarantee, so I just throw away the ones with broken zips and broken handles and broken wheels, and fork out for a replacement. The joys of travel!
I don’t worry aboit my luggage because it’s almost a certainty that something bad, if only incrementally, will happen to it.
I worry often, mainly about it getting misplaced by the airline or having something stolen from it-also by the airline crew.
I always worry about my checked luggage.
I worry about my bag every time I check it!
Yes, I do. I try not to carry anything valuable in there in case something gets stolen.
I always worry! I never check bags unless it’s absolutely imperative.
I only worry when I fly United, they break guitars. Otherwise, I think lost baggage is way overhyped by the vocal and whiny minority. But I think spending a lot of money on something that spends most of its time in the cargo bay is a poor investment. If my duffel bag cost a few hundred dollars, I’d probably think a little differently.
Yes, I sometimes worry about my luggage, even though I have only had it get lost once (it was returned within a day).
Yes, that is why I try to avoid checked bags.
I only worry when I check in my bags with something expensive
My biggest worry is that I’ll be waiting a long time at bag claim before my bag comes out.
Of course I worry, but not enough to ruin my trip if it is lost. I never pack anything that can’t be replaced.
I never worry. I’m just mindful of what I pack in there. Life is too short to worry!
Do I worry? a bit. I’ve never (knock on wood) experienced lost luggage. But I have experienced damaged checked luggage. I generally carry on so I am in control of my own destiny as much as possible.
I worry every trip but never had a problem.
I worry that someone will grab my bag by mistake.
I rarely check my bag so it’s with me most of the time. My backpack with my computer and camera I worry about but not clothes and shoes. I can replace those pretty easily and who in their right mind would want my clothes.
