Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. I worry that it will be lost, so besides a tag, I always have a print-out of my itinerary inside.

  2. I always worry that I might have to gate check something and the contents arrive broken.

  3. I only worry about spilling my drink on my laptop bag. Other than that, nothing in my bags is expensive enough for me to worry. All expensive things are in my laptop bag

  4. My main concern is having valuables stolen, didn’t they just bust a TSA agent doing just that.

  5. I worry my bags won’t make it to my destination so I always pack essentials(like medication) in 2 spots.

  6. I do worry about my bag when I have to check it. Which is why I try to carry on only!

  7. Do I worry? When I check, I worry that it will get ripped to shreds. My Desley just had a top handle ripped half-way off and the zippers pulls are mangled.

When I don’t check, I worry that the bins in front of my seat will be full and I’ll check behind me. I may as well gate check at that point – I’ll probably get it faster.

  8. I worry that my checked baggage will be lost by the airlines. I try to avoid checking if it is at all possible.

  9. I never check baggage because I worry they will never show up. And if I really need to check them, I make sure all the important stuff is in my carry-on.

  10. I always worry about my baggage possibly getting lost or if the bottles of wine that I stuffed perfectly into the luggage breaks. Otherwise, I trust my luggage. However, it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra Briggs & Riley to back me up 🙂

  11. My carry-on has a broken strap, so I don’t worry about it too much anymore.

  12. I only worry about checked luggage. I don’t mind so much if it’s banged up a bit but I definitely worry about it being lost!

  13. Always, and that’s why I rarely check any luggage these days. Even on long trips, I pack light and do laundry locally.

  14. On my last trip to Alaska, my brand new suitcase got completely destroyed! The airline did not want to have anything to do with it and argued that: “the wheels are protruding”! Except that my suitcase was an “old-style” version with NO protruding wheels! The complete structure inside the suitcase was broken and the wheel were pushed up inside the suitcase…So yes, I do worry that my suitcase will, again, get crushed like a fly.

  15. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? No. I’ve never had any of my luggage damaged in any significant way in the last 30+ years.

  16. I’m not worried about my luggage, but I’d certainly prefer that it arrive with me and intact. I understand that there are going to be bumps and scuffs, but the baggage handlers seem to treat items more roughly than necessary. The one time my baggage was delayed significantly, the place I was visiting decided to take a group photo of everyone working on the project. Fortunately, I had traveled in business-appropriate attire.

  17. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? No, I’ve been incredibly lucky to not have any luggage damaged or lose anything.

  18. I’d prefer nothing happen to my luggage, but I don’t worry about it much. Just got to roll with the punches when traveling.

  19. Yes. And it has on several occasions. That is why I try to almost always fly carry on only whenever possible.

  20. Yes, but fortunately, the worst that has ever happened is that the luggage missed the connecting flight and I am usually reunited with my luggage by that evening.

  21. Yes, I worry about what is going to happen to my luggage, which is why I do carry on ALL THE TIME. I never want those baggage handlers handling my luggage and possibly rummaging through my belongings and stealing stuff…

  22. I’m paranoid. Won’t ever check my leather duffle and get sweaty when I check my Tumi roller

  23. Yes. A couple of times I have come home and opened my bag to find a broken item which was fairly well wrapped and I get to wondering how were they moving it around.

  24. Only when it rains, and there’s a 50/50 chance your clothes are going to be soaked!

  25. Yes I do worry. And given past experiences with checked baggage, I have reason to.

  26. Yes, I do worry something will happen to my bag, ie, suitcase when I travel. If its going to be lost, I hope it goes someplace where someone can use my things instead of it being distributed among airport emlpoyees – if that’s what happens.
