I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.
As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).
Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.
Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.
Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.
Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:
- Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Here are the rules:
- You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

No, not really. What can you really do about it?
I never worry about something happening to my luggage. Plus I always carry on. Can’t remember the last time I checked a bag.
I do not worry much anymore; all valuables board the plane with me, the checked stuff is now only clothes and misc stuff.
I only worry that it will disappear via baggage handling or theft. I figure that — mangling aside — damage comes with the territory.
Yes, I worry. I’ve had bags trashed by airlines.
No, because I always carry-on.
Since we only eat Kosher, we always worry that our bags will either break on the way or won’t show up at all.
I have faith that it will all work out in the end.
Not really. Anything critical I take in my carry-on. And in the past when I’ve lost luggage (rare), it always showed up before business the next day.
Yes, I always worry about my luggage! Have had past experiences with lost baggage, delayed baggage, damaged bags, things stolen out of bags – you name it and I’ve probably been through it.
Yes, I always worried about damage to the luggage. Actually it has happened twice.
Yes, I do worry about my bags (lost, late, opened, broken).
I almost never check bags, so the biggest thing I worry about is my own stupidity, like leaving a bag (or a phone charger) in the lounge or hotel room.
I worry more that the bag will be lost going TO my destination. Coming home would not be quite as bad. I have had minor damage to various bags, but it never really affected the stuff inside. I am missing one zipper handle/fob that I wish was still there, compliments of one of the airlines I’ve used.
Yes, I worry that it will be lost, damaged, or contents pilfered.
Yes, I worry that it will be lost, damaged, or contents pilfered.
Yes I always worry when I check it or gate check it. I have had m tumi locks stolen and my bag opened (without any TSA card placed inside stating they inspected my luggage).
Yes I worry that something will happen to my luggage.
Thanks for the contest.
never really have any worries – have insurance with my credit card and my luggage is guaranteed for life against damage. in 30 yrs of travel, my bags arrived late twice – and never lost.
Yes, I worry if my luggage may get lost but not if the suitcase is damaged.
Yes I worry something will happen to my bag. My luggage has been lost 4 out of my last 5 flights. I am now a carry on only girl.
Always a bit nervous that my luggage will be lost, but certainly hopeful that it won’t be damaged!
Yeah, that it will get lost.
Yes if I check bags I worry about baggage handlers damaging and TSA rifling through my things. Luckily I rarely check bags (skis and when I moved out of the country).
No concerns if I’m carrying on the bag, as I can monitor the bag for the most part. When I have to check a bag … complete paranoia!
No, I don’t worry too much. Anything important I must take on a trip, I pack in a carry on bag. But I take precautions such as I have my name and contact information inside the bag, and I have a photo of my bag on my Blackberry.
No, but mostly because I try to travel with carryons only as often as possible!
I definitely worry about bags and try not to leave anything too valuable in there. I once had a high-quality backpack get torn with a 8″ gash. I’ve experienced a lot of other incidents, especially (temporarily) lost luggage, which seems to happen every couple of years or so.
I worry that the retractable handle of my carry-on will tend to get stuck in the full-length position. That happened to my last bag, and it’s no fun spending five minutes arguing with it every time I board a plane!
When I don’t worry, that’s when my luggage seems to get lost!
I always worry that my checked luggage’s latch/zipper will “pop” open and everything will fall out! My carry-on, no worries, though a functional and comfortable bag is certainly welcomed. Hint hint!
I never worry about my checked bag. I have been on the road for 29 years, check one bag everytime (at least since we have had the TSA major intrusion into carry-ons), and have only had one missed bag – at my home leg when I caught an earlier flight.
I almost always have priority boarding, and it is crazy to see everyone and ALL their carry-ons crash down the aisle like stressed out beasts of burden.
Life is too short to worry about the .01% stuff.
And I too am a major fan of B&R – great improvement from my Travel Pro bags that did not hold up. My adult daughter is also a major traveller, and we have given her several different pieces. She especially likes the new computer backpack/bag that allows the computer t ostay inside.
I only worry when I am forced to check my bag!
I worry that it won’t hold up to the wear and tear it’s subjected to!
My only worry is that eventually wear and tear will get the better of my luggage.
I worry that it may get lost!
All the time, don’t want the hassle of dealing with it if it ever does happen.
When I check I worry it will arrive at baggage at the start of my trip with a missing wheel or split seam! I worry less coming home.
Yep I worry it will get lost. I make sure the tag they attach has my destination airport code.
I never used to worry until I had a bag sent to the wrong airport because it was tagged incorrectly. I had an important meeting the next day and my clothes were in there. Now I always double check the luggage tag if I check a bag.
I always worry that something is going to happen to my luggage .. either that it itself will be missing parts or I’ll be missing pieces from inside (what I packed).
I worry but there’s not much I can do if it’s a trip where I need to check a bag. JetBlue once lost my suitcase. Unfortunately I was on my way TO a wedding, which involved shopping and borrowing clothing. The case showed up a MONTH later. Have only flown B6 once since then, reluctantly.
As a result, my carryon is really important!
Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Yes, last time the wheel broke. Other times I worry someone might take my luggage since it looks like everyone elses luggage.
I worry about my luggage whenever the luggage is not in my possession like when its checked or in the hands of the TSA.
I worry something will happen to my luggage when it doesn’t arrive at its destination on time. Always arrives banged up the next day.
Yes, I do worry. Had some bad experiences.
Whenever I check my bag, I worry when I’ll see it next.
yes! i always seem to get my suitcase back with some new problem!
I only worry on international flights when it would be much harder to replace my items, and how much I worry depends on how long I have to wait for the bag(s)to appear.
So far I’ve never had a bad experience (knock on wood) checking a bag. Maybe this is because I rarely check bags!
