I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.
As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).
Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.
Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.
Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.
Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:
- Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Here are the rules:
- You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

No, I don’t worry something will happen but always happy when my bag shows up on the carousel.
I’ve never worried about my B&R wheeled backpack carryon, except that I won’t be able to replace it. I love it because it has a zip-off daypack, which makes it a great bag for tourism. When the zipper on my first (blue) one broke and the B&R-certified repair shop couldn’t fix it, they of course honored the lifetime guarantee to replace it, but B&R had to give me a new black one because that was the only color left in their warehouse, as they no longer produce that model nor anything similar with a zip-off daypack.
I worry that if won’t fit in the overhead compartment when I fly small regional planes.
Yes I do. There’s always a huge new scratch on my luggage.
Yep, I worry that it’s not on the plane with me!
I worry that my checked luggage will be lost.
I worry that TSA will not close it properly after their random(??) inspection and things will spill out and get lost.
I worry that the TSA will not close it properly after their random (??) inspection and things will spill out and get lost.
Only when I check my luggage, and I try to never do that!
Frankly I don’t worry at all that something will happen to my luggage. I buy luggage that’s well built and is backed by a lengthy or lifetime warranty, so if something does go wrong I am covered.
I worry….
Checking in: it will be overweight.
Baggage claim: it won’t arrive
Customs: that they will want to open it.
….too much!
I try not to, at least once its left my hands – there are enough things to worry about when travelling!
rarely actually….almost always carry anything of value in my carry on….for the rest..there is Chase’s travel protection.
yes! i always seem to get my suitcase back with some new problem!!
I always worry when checking in my luggage, it would be damaged and not arrived on time
Yes, I always worry.
It is always in the back of my head that something could happen. I always carry the most eesential items with me, that I can’t afford to lose.
I’ve accepted that fact that eventually something WILL happen to my luggage, so I don’t worry about it.
I try not to worry about my luggage, once it’s checked. I sent out a little luggage protection prayer and let it go.
Always worry. Try to only travel with carry-ons.
as Ron would say “check it and forget it”
Never a worry
Want to check my luggage, but so afraid that it will be lost and I will be without for days or more!
No. There are a lot bigger things in life to worry about than lost luggage.
I worry! My luggage once got spiked on something at the airport. There was a small hole through the suitcase and my layers of clothing.
Love some new luggage for my trip to Australia
Yes, that is why I always pack important stuff (including one change of outfit) in my carry-on.
Yes I worry but still I check my bags, To date no problems.
I worry that the business samples packed in the two large suitcases that I have to take with me on business trips will be stolen by TSA or airline personnel.
Yes, I worry that someone might forget to unload my luggage off the plane.
No.
With a B&R you know if it gets damaged they will fix it
Those are smart looking bags!
I always worry that something will happen to my luggage.
What, Me Not Worry?
I always worry something will happen to my checked bag.
New day, new reason: yes, because Trust No One.
OMG. I ALWAYS worry. I worry it’ll be lost or crushed or broken or damaged or stolen! 🙁
Yes, I always fear my luggage will be damaged if I have to check a bag. But I should probably be more afraid that baggage handlers will steal things from my bag. That said, I rarely check anything of value other than nice clothes.
Yes because I hate thinking about spending money I could be using for another trip to pay for luggae instead!
I worry that something will be stolen from my checked bag as it has happened in the past on an international flight. I also replace zippers all the time that are knocked off of checked luggage so I worry (just a little) about that. With carry on luggage, if the flight is full and I’m in the back, I put it overhead further up in the plane when I find a spot. I worry someone will mistakenly grab my luggage on the way out and I’ll be too far back in the plane to stop it.
Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Yup but depends on the airline. Don’t care too much about the contents in my bag but more about the hassle or reporting and waiting for resolution on broken bags!!!
I only worry when I check a bag which I rarely do.
I worry about my checked bags getting lost all the time.
Mostly I’m so worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow.
I always check my bag as I don’t want to have to lug it around as normally I have a connection. My luggage is pretty much beat to H#(( so the airlines can’t hurt it to much. If it doesn’t make it to my destination I’ll go buy some things to make it through. Some things in travel you can’t control and its best to roll with it.
Yes, I do carry-on most the time to keep an eye on it.
I have three worries with checked luggage. Most pressing — that the bag will be damaged with rough handling. I’m also concerned, but less so, that something will be taken from my luggage, or that it will be lost or delayed en route. I hate carrying on bags, but given new fees, it’s definitely the preferred route now.
I never worry that something will happen to my bag. Carry-on only —-
Never, it’s not worth worrying about
Yes, I worry whenever a bag gets checked. Gets tossed around by strangers, rolls around the carousel for anyone to grab…lots to worry about.
not a ton, but international stresses me out a little…
