Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. i don’t “worry” per se as it accomplishes nothing. i assess the risk, plan for contingencies, and mitigate the risk with insurance.

  2. I always worry about my checked luggage being damaged or lost, that’s why I typically put all the important stuff and an alternate change of clothes and toiletries set in my carry-on luggage.

  3. The only time I’m worried is travelling south of the border by bus when it sits out in the open waiting to be loaded into the compartments underneath the seating.

  4. I don’t worry beacuse all my valuables and other important things are in my carry on.

  5. I only worry about checked luggage, although I’m usually a carry on-only type of person. I don’t mind so much if my luggage gets banged up a bit but I definitely worry about it being lost!

  6. What was the question again? I am just happy if my bags makes it to my destination. That is why I am doing more carry on than checking in a bag. I also don’t want to enrich the airlines and encourage them to create more rip off fees. They will need us again to support them, I am confident of that!!

  7. I try not to check bags, mainly because I don’t want to wait for them, but also because I’m afraid someone might steal from me, specially leaving in Italy (remember the case of people taking belongings out of the suitcases)

  8. I worry that I won’t win this contest and will have to keep traveling with the crappy jansport backpack I’ve had for years! Ugh

  9. I never have had an issue, although I know plenty of people who had to wait a day or two for their luggage.

Ironically, my worst experience was on a recent flight from LAX to SFO. It was an afternoon flight, so a fifty percent chance that fog at SFO will delay flights, and it did get delayed. We departed 2 hours late, then after landing, the luggage took over 40 minutes to arrive at baggage claim. No explanation and this was not 1:00am at a tiny airport, this was 10:30pm at SFO. Someone could have given a decent explanation, at least to get us off their backs. Very unprofessional and I couldn’t have been more annoyed.

  10. I still worry about my luggage when checking it. No change of heart since yesterday!

  11. No. I already do things to minimize those changes as possible (e.g. carry on instead of check) and there is no point in worrying about what you can’t control.

  12. After a wheel started peeling apart while schlepping my bag from the Airport Sheraton in Frankfurt to Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal – Yes!

  13. No. I’ve only had a problem once, it was 20 years ago and American gave me and my wife money to buy new clothes. It was fun. Of course they probably wouldn’t do that now.

  14. Of course I worry something is going to happen to my luggage. There’s no accountability or monitoring for baggage handlers and TSA agents so they can get away with anything.

IF I only have a carry-on I’m not nearly as worried.

  15. Not usually. If I check in late and it’s possible that the bag won’t make the plane, I do worry. Ditto for short connections.

  16. I worry that a zipper on my luggage may bust on a flight. Luggage is tossed like peanuts at a ball game.

  17. I travel with a B&R, so I don’t have to worry about bag damage. I do worry about lost or delayed luggage though n

  18. I don’t worry about my luggage because it’s almost a certainty that something bad, if only incrementally, will happen to it.

  19. I always worry when checking a bag and whether it’ll get to its destination, on time, unscathed and with all its content.

  20. I don’t really worry about my bag, though I try to have the basic necessities with me when I am required to check in my cabin bag. For all the years of traveling, I have never lost a bag, though there have been a few delays once in a while.

  21. I don’t worry because I never check a bag. Plus I learned a long time ago that wherever you’re going – they sell things – you can usually get a replacement.

  22. Nope, never. Not about checking, because I don’t, nor anything else, either. It’s about travel, and a good bag is important, but, you an get another.

  23. I never pack valuables in my checked bag … it’s all easily replaced stuff. I worry only about not having this “stuff” going TO my destination. The bags themselves seem to be pretty sturdy with only minor issues after many, many flights.

  24. I try not to worry too much by virtually never checking the luggage in and keeping an eye on it.
