Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. I rarely check my bag so I don’t worry about anything happening to it. If I do check it, I always assume it won’t be there when I get to my destination.

  2. Every time I check a bag, I worry. That is why I try to do a carry on whenever possible.

  3. I worry that my luggage will be picked up by someone else by mistake because often most luggage looks about the same.

  4. I stopped looking when I saw my bag taken out by a tumbling golf bag. Now I just pretend all will be fine.

  5. If I check bags, I always hold my breath a little until I see them on the carousel.

  6. I worry that the TSA will repack it poorly, either losing something or causing something to break.

Having them delayed is usually a blessing — it means someone else will deliver them to me and I don’t have to haul them around.

  7. Anything that I really have to worry about goes in the carry on. I try not to worry about my checked bags…until they happen to be among the last ones to appear on the carousel.

  8. I worry. I worry that the baggage won’t arrive when I do, that the baggage will be broken when it arrives, that something will be stolen. Adof course most of the time all goes well. This doesn’t stop me from worrying on the next flight,

  9. If I’m checking bags I always worry. As soon as it leaves your hands, it’s fair game for someone to go through.

  10. I don’t worry about my bag getting trashed. It always surprises me when it gets banged up.

  11. I worry that my luggage will be lost or stolen, particularly on tight connections and crazy routings with less reputable carriers. While I usually pack all my valuables in my carry-on bag(s), I don’t want to ruin a vacation buying clothes or filing claims.

  12. Not really. Anything critical I take in my carry-on. And in the past when I’ve lost luggage (rare), it always showed up before business the next day.

  13. No, I don’t worry until I have to. I have always wanted to go on a cruise with a small carry on and say my large checked baggage was lost so I didn’t have to dress up and bring a ton of overpacked clothes/shoes!

  14. I worry….
when checking in: it will be overweight.
at baggage claim: it won’t arrive.
at customs: that they will want to open it.
    ….too much!

  15. I almost never worry about checked luggage. It’s incredibly convenient to have someone else take care of a heavy suitcase while I go to the lounge to relax before getting on the plane, then I pick it up on the other end.

  16. I don’t worry at all that something will happen to my luggage. I try to buy luggage that’s well built and is backed by a good warranty, so if something does go wrong I am covered.

  17. I do NOT worry that my luggage will be damaged — because I use B&R bags and its guarantee is FABULOUS. However, I do worry about checked baggage getting lost/delayed.

  18. I just checked my luggage and I’m sitting in an airport lounge in Warsaw, worrying about my luggage and whether it will make the tight connection in Munich because my flight from Warsaw is delayed by 30+ minutes and my connection was only 55 minutes. Come to think of it, I’m more worried whether I will make the connection but I’m resting easier knowing I have special Amex travel delay insurance that will cover me for up to $300 for a hotel, food and transportation, and I’ve never been to Munich so it might not be the worst thing in the world.

  19. I tend to obsessively worry about other stuff more, so no I don’t worry too much about a bag!

  20. I don’t worry about my luggage because most of what’s in there is cheap and replaceable.

  21. I always worry and with good reason. Got to Sydney in January, and the airlines had ducktaped my bag, and there were clothes hanging out everywhere. If possible, I carry on.

  22. I worry about losing checked luggage in between layovers and not having it reach my final destination.
