I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.
As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).
Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.
Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.
Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.
Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:
- Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Here are the rules:
- You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

Yes. That’s why I never put anything I can’t bear to lose in case something happens.
nope i don’t worry about my bag. I only worry if I have a connection and the flight was delayed…. which means shorter transit time (shorter time for the baggage workers to transfer my stuff.
Not only do I worry about my luggage, something did happen to it! On my last trip the airline returned it to me late and with large slashes in the backing and the handle missing. I would love to have a Briggs where I could have it repaired/replaced free of charge.
Always.
I worry. One time I asked a flight attendant if she could check on my bag after a really tight connection. She said she had no way of checking and to always “have faith.” I always try!
Generally no. I always carry on when I travel alone, even if it’s for a week. However, I do check cheapo luggage when I travel with the family, but make sure I have a change of clothes in the carry-ons.
Every time I check a bag (which is rare), I am convinced it will not arrive with me.
Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? Considering I’ve lost a camera bag before – YES!
I don’t worry beacuse all my valuables and other important things are in my carry on.
Something always happens to my luggage because My name is on the no-fly list. As Woody Allen once said, you’re not paranoid if they’ really are out to get you.
Yes, I do worry, especially with that clip that came out not too long ago with workers going through luggage!
I always pack some essentials just in case, so yes I do worry!
I do not worry
There’s nothing in my checked luggage that can’t be easily replaced.
I use Briggs &Riley and my fav bag for short trips is > 15 years old. It’s 50/50 that I check it on versus carry on board, and it’s still in great shape. I never have to worry about slits construction or making it through the conveyors at airports. Sometimes I have bag envy to new Briggs & Riley models so maybe time to upgrade?
I wouldn’t say that I worry…but I do hope everytime that my luggage doesn’t fall apart.
Yes. TSA always do something funny to my luggage/bag.

I was going to say no, but now i am not sure.. i usually dont like to think about these things!! but generally carry my valuables in carry on
I don’t typically worry too much about it.
Yes I sure do. Because its a hassle to replace the bag during a vacation.
I always worry! Seem to always have a damaged piece every other time I check a bag.
Yes, I worry, which is why there are virtually no circumstances in which I will check a bag any more.
I never worry anymore: I’ve come to expect damage.
I do worry a bit, but not too much. I try not to check-in, if possible.
I worry that the handle will break off or get stuck. It’s happened to almost all of my bags!
I’ve been lucky enough to never have something happen to my bags, so maybe I’m naive but it’s not a worry of mine.
I always worry that my bag will be lost or damaged but sometimes I have no choice and have to check it. I never put anything valuable in my checked bag.
I usually worry about stolen items or lost bags. Happened once flying first class.
I generally don’t worry about the luggage itself. Things will happen but can be fixed/repaired. I do worry about luggage getting delayed or lost when I have to check things … especially on international connections.
I only worry when my bag is out of my sight.
I worry my bag will get lost or delayed, and with my cheap bags I worry that they’ll rip open. Especially my $15 Wal Mart duffle bag that has survived more transatlantic flights than I would ever have imagined.
I worry that my checked bags are going to come out damaged
I had a camera stolen out of my checked bag on a very short flight, so I no longer put anything valuable in a checked bag. I’m worried I’ll never see the bag again. I’m also worried someone will steal my bag from the baggage area.
I worry. Have you ever seen those guys loading the bags on the plane? Its like they’re in an Olympic competition to see how far they can toss the bag.
I worry the handle won’t pull up because they crushed the back and bent the bars for the handle.
I worry that my luggage will get lost. With having a little one traveling with us, we have a lot of “survival” items that we need to bring with us to make the trip much more pleasant-loosing these can equal a very stressful vacation for us!
They always show more wear and tear after every flight.
YES!
All my luggage is B&R. Because I love it so much – my biggest worry is that it will disappear altogether in transit. The UK paths, roads and pavements are built (or degraded – depending on you view) to be snow-hardy and rugged. The ground attacks the wheels of the rollaboards and spinners, but so far they have held up to all the friction the Brits can throw at them
yes i worry
I only worry if I check it
I don’t care. I have come to terms with US based airlines destroying my bags time after time.
No worries here. With throwaway luggage and relatively invaluable things packed inside, any loss or damages would only be an annoyance.
I always worry about a lost checked bag, and seeing staff throw bags unnecessarily doesn’t help either.
I always worried about damage to the wheels. This has happened way too many times to me.
I normally carry on my bag, but generally don’t worry if I check it.
Generally no, I don’t worry that something will happen to my luggage. Except wear and tear, which has put quite a beating on my tumi t tech roll aboard!
Theres always a worry
I only worry when:
1. I’m temporarily emigrating and have meaningful stuff in my maxed-out baggage allowance, or
2. I’m going somewhere that replacing things will be difficult.
