Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. I worry when I check my bags on a trip that has layovers. Non-stop flights are often fine. I also worry about handlers stealing things so I try to never check valuables.

  2. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? All the time, as my luggage has been lost/misplaced at least 3 times and beat up multiple times.

  3. I worry about my instruments (e.g. guitar, violin, etc.): 1) that they will have to be check in, and 2) they will be crushed if they are.

  4. I definitely worry that something will happen to my luggage, especially after one of my bags was seriously damaged on my last trip

  5. Not usually but on a recent trip I got up to retrieve my bag from the overhead and it was gone. Luckily a guy behind me had taken it by mistake. But had I put it in an overhead in front of me instead of right near my seat I may have started that business trip off on a bad note. Something I now think about every time when searching for overhead space.

  6. Yes, I worry the most when I transit ORD — as they have destroyed my luggage a number of times.

  7. Worry, there are more important things to worry about but I sure would like a quality piece of luggage.

  8. Not usually but I always pack a couple of days worth of clothes in the carry on, just in case.

  9. I never worry about something happening to my bags, I always assume something WILL happen and am pleasantly surprised when it doesn’t.

  10. I worry that stuff in my bag and/or the bag itself will be damaged. Both have happened several times before.

  11. Yes, considering that the bag can be away from you for hours at a time, and even sometimes not even on the same flight as me, I do worry that it will get lost and/or damaged.

  12. I’m always concerned about loss or damage of my bags. It’s happened to me before.

  13. I have to check my Pelican 1510 and though I seal it as well as possible, I constantly worry it will pop open and its expensive contents spill out.

  14. Having seen what baggage handlers are capable of, I do worry about the new ways they will manage to wreck my checked luggage.

  15. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Losing it while in transit. So try my best with a carry on.

  16. I worry about the zipper popping open. It happen once in fact with a suitcase absolutely full of books. Luckily I had wrapped a few strips of duct tape around it.

  17. I think it’s always a concern about something happening to my luggage. Or even if it does make it to the conveyor belt safely, that somebody else has the same luggage and grabs mine by mistake.

  18. I always worry about my checked luggage being damaged or lost, that’s why I typically put all the important stuff and an alternate change of clothes and toiletries set in my carry-on luggage.

  19. I always worry if my checked luggage will be destroyed by getting caught or stuck on a moving conveyer belt.

  20. I’m always amazed that my luggage survives the trip. Too many times I have seen duct tape as the only thing keeping bags together in baggage claim.

  21. Very seldom do I worry when I have to check luggage. UA’s baggage service is pretty reliable these days, but if you check luggage you don’t nearly have the flexibility with irrops as you do sans checked luggage.

  22. Yes, not only I worry if the bag will make it to the destination; but also if it comes through unharmed. I see way too many bag handlers just tossing bags left and right, and the results when they come out on the belt.

  23. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
Always, when it is checked – will it arrive on same flight as me – will it survive baggage handling?

  24. I always worry about vandalism and/or damage to any checked bags. It is a result of past experiences.

  25. No, because I don’t check bags (ever). This came after UA lost my bag on 2 consecutive flights (4-5 days each to recover them).

  26. No, if I really care about something it doesn’t go in my luggage. I figure I can always replace my clothes wherever I am going.

  27. I always worry about my luggage if I have to check it. First of all, I worry if it is going to male it to my final destination. Then, I worry “how” it is going to make it – after all the beating it takes…

  28. Never worry about the luggage as it is generally inexpensive. Sometime do worry about anu fragiles that I have packed in.

  29. As a frequent traveler, I always worry that something will happen to my bag(s). Loss, theft, damage, you name it. With lifetime warranty though, damage is not as big a concern.

  30. When I have to check a bag I am probably more worried about my bags being damaged than I am them gettig lost.

  31. No worries – anything very valuable I carry on me. Everything else is replaceable.

  32. Partially depends on the airline, but there’s always a little worry about my bag.

  33. Definitively – I get the feeling nobody really cares about my bags anywhere in the chain, and I always worry it will be poorly handled, whether in regular check or even gate check.

  34. I hardly ever worry. But when it is damaged, my B&R luggage has been easily repaired at our local shoe repair shop. So easy, that guarantee. They just send the bill to B&R.
